4 2. Route the co rd through the grooves on the bot tom of th e base. 3. Plug the m odular c ord’s other end into a modular phone lin e jack. 4. Insert t he supp lied AC adapter ’s barre l plug into t he 9V DC jack on the bott om of the b ase. 5. Route the adapte r ’s cord through the groove s on the bottom of the base.

Your pho ne is shipped w ith th e basic level of privacy activated , which will help with the ma jori ty of telemar keting calls.

14 TROUBLESHOOTING We do not e xpect you to have any problem s with you r phone, but if you d o, these suggestio ns mig ht help . If the phone doesn't w ork at all, check these items first: • Make sure the AC adapter is plug ged into an outlet not controlled b y a w all switch.
15 If you hav e diffic ulty hear ing messages : Check t he volu me set ting. If the syst em does not answ er after t he correct number of r ings: • Make sure t hat t he answeri ng sys tem is on. • If T oll Sav er is on, the number of rings changes to two when y ou hav e new message s wai ting.
