Howeve r, each answerin g system ( and eac h devic e, such as a telep hone or answe ring machi ne) that you con nect to the telepho ne line draws power from th e tele phone line.

For the best perform ance an d longes t life, we recomm end you use a Rad ioShack alkaline batt ery.

Prep aratio n 8 T URNING THE S YSTEM O N / O FF To turn on the system , press ON/OFF/ ST OP . T he display light s and the syst em s ounds a tone. The system is set to a nswer calls. To turn it of f, press ON/OFF/ST OP .T h e display turns of f and the system sounds 2 tones .

Repe atedly pres s MEMO/2 W A Y/ HOUR until you h ear or see the correct h our . 4. While holdin g down SKIP/TIME SET/CHECK, press PLA Y/P AUSE/ MIN .
Prep aratio n 10 message s, the system answe rs after two rings . Otherwise, th e system answers aft er four rings. This lets you avoid un neces sary char ges when calling by long di stance to check you r messages. If you hear more than two rings, you know you can han g up becau se the syst em has no n ew message s.
Operatio n 11 1. Hold down REPEA T/ANNC/DA Y . A1 flashes on the disp lay , and the system so unds a to ne. 2. S p eak your m essage cle arly int o the micro phon e from a bout 10 inches awa y from th e system . 3. Release REPEA T/ANN C/DA Y when you finish your messag e.

Remot e Operatio n 17 D ELETING M ESSAGES You can delete me ssages individu ally during p layback , or all at once after playback. To de lete a part icular incomi ng message , memo, or two -way pho ne conversa tion (after l istening to it) , press DELETE during play back.
