9 Befor e you begin Player USB port of your computer USB cable Connecting to the computer • Connect the player to y our computer with the USB cable provided. The player will turn on automatically . • The player will be connected in MSC (Mass Storage Class) mode.

Managing files on your RCA Pla yer 11 Deleting files from the play er For an y files you have transferred t o the player , you may delete them while you ha ve connected the player with your c omputer . 1. Open the player in Windows Explorer and then navigate to the f older containing the files.
12 General controls T urning the player on and off T o turn the player on, pr ess and hold /MENU . Press and hold /MENU again to turn the player off . Locking the player contr ols T o lock the player contr ols to prevent them from being activated accidentally , slide LOCK to the right.
13 Menu navigation When a menu is displayed: • Press + and – t o scroll up and down the list of menu items. (The Home menu shows one item at a time; other menus show five at a time.) • Press or to go to the next menu level. P ress to return to the pr evious menu level.
14 Using the menus The Home menu The top-level or “Home” menu is always displayed when y ou press /MENU . The menu options are: Now Playing Available only during pla yback. Press or to return to the currently playing file. Music Press or to enter the Music menu and choose an artist, album, genre, year , or individual title.
15 Playing music files The player sorts your music files by track name (title), artist, album, genre and year . 1. Press /MENU to display the Home menu, then press + or – to select Music . Music Pictures Videos Settings Now Playing 2. Press or to enter the Music menu.

26 Cannot playback tr acks on the player . • M ake sure audio tracks are enc oded in the mp3 or Windows Media formats at supported bitrates. • Bitrates support by the player: mp3 – 32 to 320 kbps wma – 48 to 192 kbps • WMA files may be DRM protected and you don ’t have the proper rights (lic ense) to play the files.
