OWNER’S MANUAL Microwave Oven RMW982 1.READ these instructions carefully before installing and operating the oven. Keep them for further reference. 2.Record in the space below the SER IAL NO. found on the nameplate on your oven and retain this info rmation for future reference.
1 PRECAUTIONS T O A VOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE T O EXCESSIVE MICROW A VE ENERGY (a) Do not attempt to operate this oven with the door-open since open-door operation can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy . It is important not to defeat or tamper with the safety interlocks.
2 IMPORT ANT SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed, including the following: W ARNING - T o reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, fire, and injury to persons or exposure to excessive microwave energy: 1.
3 person: 1) Do not overheat the liquid. 2) S tir the liquid both bef ore and halfway through heating it. 3) Do not use straight-sided containers with narrow necks. 4) After heating, allow the cont ainer to stand in the microwave oven for a short time before removing the container .
4 Electrical Requirement s The electrical requirements are a 120 volt 60 Hz, AC only , 20 amp. It is recommended that a separate circuit serving only the oven be pr ovided. The oven is equipped with a 3-pron g grounding plug. It must be plugged into a wall re ceptacle that is properly installed and grounded.
5 · Glass and glass-ceramic bowls and dishes — Use for heating or cooking. · Paper plates and cup s — Use for short-term heating at low temperatures. Do not use recycled paper , which may contain metal and could ignite. · W ax paper — Use as a cover to prevent spattering.
6 COOKING TECHNIQUES Y our microwave makes cooking easier than con ventional cooking, provided you keep these considerations in mind: Stirring S tir foods such as casseroles and vegetables while cooki ng to distribute heat evenly . Food at the outside of the dish absorbs more energy and heats more quickly , so stir from the outside to the center .
7 BEFORE Y OU CALL FOR SERVICE If the oven fails to operate: A) Check to ensure that the oven is plugged in securely . If it is not, remove the plug from the outlet, wait 10 seconds and plug it in again securely . B) Check for a blown circuit fuse or a tripped main circuit breaker .

13 SETTING “ BEVERAGE ” For 4 to 6 oz. coffee cup s: 1. T ouch BEVERAGE pad once. 2. Enter number of cups by touching number pads from 1 to 4. 3. T ouch ST ART/STOP pad. For the larger 7 to 9 oz. coffee mugs: 1. T ap BEVERAGE p ad twice. 2. Enter number of mugs by touching number pads from 1 to 4.
