3 Section 2 Connection Procedures 2.1 Connecting User System Interface Cable to Emulator Station W ARNING Observe the precautions listed below. Failure to do so will result in a FIRE HAZARD and will damage the user system and the emulator product or will result in PERSONAL INJURY.
4 2. Af ter mak ing sure the di rection of t he cable body connector i s correct, firm ly ins ert the cable body con nector in to the em ulator st ation socket (figu re 2).
5 2.2 Connecting User System Interface Cable to User System W ARNING Always switch OFF the user syst em and the emulator product before the USER SYSTEM INTERFACE CABLE is connected to or removed from any part . Before connecting, make sure that pin 1 on bot h sides are correctly aligned.
6 2.2.3 I nsertin g Cable Head CAUTION Check the location of pin 1 before inserting. Alig n pin 1 on the IC s ocket for an FP-100M packag e on the u ser sy stem w ith pin 1 on the u ser sy stem interf ace cable head, and in sert the u ser sy s tem interf ace cable head into th e IC socket on the user sy stem , as sh ow n in fi gure 3.
7 Fasten th e user sy stem interface cable h ead to the IC sock et for an FP-100M packag e on the u ser system w ith the four scr ews (M2.6 x 12 m m ; w ith f our flat wa shers) prov ided. Each screw should be tighten ed a little at a tim e, alternating betw een s crew s on opposin g corn ers .

14 Section 4 Verifying Oper ation 1. Turn on the em ulator according to the procedu res described in th e H8SX/1650 E6000H Emul ator User' s Manu al (HS1650EPH60HE). 2. Verify the user sy stem interf ace cable connections by check ing the pin states w ith the CH ECK comm and (em ulator com m and).
15 Section 5 Notice 1. Make s ure that pin 1 on the user sy stem IC socket is correctly aligned w ith pin 1 on the cable head before insertin g the cable head in to the user sy stem IC socket. 2. This us er sys tem interface cable is specifically des igned for the HS1527KEPH60H em ulator.
16 6. A level- shift circu it with AVcc0 and A Vcc1 is m ounted on th e user sy stem interface cable, as show n i n fig ure 12. A t shipm ent , the jum per pin is insert ed in th e side of pin s 1 and 2 of the P4 short connector.
