1. Description This manual applies to the REHXN0412-1 network camer a. The Network Camer a provides a network service for a pr ogressive scan image sensor that c an be monit ored on a real-tim e screen re gardless of dis t ance or location.

Note : Video Output is used for an easy zoom and focu s control when installing lens. After lens installation, you must set Video Switch to Off to provide the best performance of t he Network Camera . • LED Indicators LED Color Indication Green Steady for connection to a 100 Mbit/s network.
2. IMPORTANT: Plug the connector from the lens into the auto iri s jack on the back of the camera. Th e connector is polarized and can only be i nserted into the jack one way . 3. Apply power to the camera. 4. In the OSD , the AE lens selection should be set to "VI DEO".
2. Attach the DC -type auto iris lens to the lens moun t on the front of the camer a. 3. Plug the connector into the auto iris jack on the side of the camer a. The connector is polarized and can only inserted into th e jack one way . 4. Apply power to the camera.
7 . Fine tune the focus with the f ocus ring on the lens. 8. Remov e the welder's glass from in fr ont of the lens. 9. Adjust the iris of the lens f or the best picture quality .
2. Installation 2.1 Connection • Connecting to the RJ-45 Connect a standard RJ-45 cable to the network port of the network camer a. Gener ally a cross-over cable is used to connect dir ectly to a PC, while a standar d cable is used to connect to a hub or router .
3. Select the camer a on the list and click right button of the mou se. Y o u can see the pop-up menu below . 4 . Select Assign IP . Y ou will see an Assign I P window . Enter the requir ed IP address. Not e : For m ore information, ref er to the Smart Manager User’ s Manual.
3. Operation The Network Camer a can be used with Windows operating sy stem and browsers. The recom mended browsers are Internet Explorer, S afari, Fire fox, Opera and Google Chrome for Wi ndows. NOTE : T o view streaming video in Microsoft Inter net Explorer , set your browser to allow ActiveX controls.
3.2. Access from the internet Once connected, the Network Camera on your local network (LAN) will be accessible via the internet. To access the network c amera from the Internet yo u must configure your broadband router to allow incoming data traffic to the network camera.
3.4 Live View Page The live view page comes in eight scr een modes: 1920x1080, 1280x1024 , 1280x720, 720x480(576), 640x480, 352x240(288), and 320x240. Users ar e allowed to select the most suitable one out of those modes. Please, adjust the mode in accor dance with your PC specif ications and monitoring purposes.
2) Control toolbar The live viewer toolbar is available in the web browser page only . It displays the following buttons: The St op button stops the video stream being played. Pressing the key ag ain toggles the start and stop. The Star t button connects to the network camer a or Starts playing a video stream.
3.5 Network Camera Setup This section describe s how to conf igure the network camera , and is intended for product Administrators, who h ave unrestrict ed access to all the Setup tools; and Oper ators, who hav e access to the setting s for Basic, Live View , Video & Image, Audio , Event, and S ystem Conf iguration.
1) Users User access control is enabled by def ault. An admi nistr ator can set up other users, by giving these user names and password s. It is also possible to allow anonymous viewer login, which me.
2) Network The network camer a supports both IP version 4 an d IP version 6. Both versions may be enabled simultaneously, and at least one ver sion must always be enabled. When u sing IPv4, the IP address for the network camera can be set automati cally via DHCP, or a static IP address can be set man ually.
3) V ideo & Image • Stream1 Setting - Codec: The codec settings are separated into MPEG4 and H.2 64. H.264 is a lso known as MPEG-4 Part 10. This is the ne w generation compression standard fo r digital video.
* MPEG4 ASP(Advanced Simple Profile): Its notable technical featur es relative to the Si mple Prof ile, which is roughly similar to H.264 , including "MPEG"-style quantization , interlaced video, B pictur es (also known as B Fr ames), Quarter Pixel motion c ompensation (Qpel), Global motion compen sation (GMC).
- JPEG frame rate: Same as the Stream1 Setti ng. - JPEG quality: Select the picture quality . If users want to hav e a high quality of fast image on e by one, please decrease the v alue. F or the purpose of gener al monitoring, please do not change a basic v alue.
- Sample rate: Select the required Sample rate (number of times per s econd the sound is sampled). The higher the sample rate, th e better the audio quality and the greate r the bandwidth required. - Sound bitrate: Depending on the selected encoding, set the de sir ed audio quality (bitr ate).
5) Date & Time • Current Server Time It displays the current date and time (24h clock) . The time can be displayed in 12h clock format in the overlay (see below).

Appearance • Image Appearance This page provides access to the adv anced image settings f or the network camera. - Brightness: The image brightness can be adjusted in the range 1-10, where a higher value produces a brighter image. - Color level: Select an appropriate level by entering a value in the range 1-10.
AE & AWB This page provides access to set the exposure and white balance of th e network camera. • Exposure Control Configure the exposure settings to suit the im age quality requirements in relation to lighting consideration.
• White Balance Control This adjusts the r elative amount of red , green and blue primary colors in the image so that the neutral colors ar e repr oduced correctly . The camer a can be set to automatica lly adjust for the type of light and compensate for its color .
Privacy Masking The privacy masking function allows yo u to mask pa rts of the video image to be transmitted. You can set up to eight privacy masks and the color of privacy mask s is black. The priv acy masks are c onf igured by Ma sk windows. Each window can be selected by clicking with the mouse.
Webcast ing The network camera can stream live video to a websit e. Copy the HTML code generated on the screen and pastes it in page code of the we bsite you want to display live video. Note: To use webcasting service, the Enable Anonymous viewer login option mu st be checked.

3.5.4 Event 1) Event-In On Boot This i s used to trigger the event ev ery time the Network Camera i s started. Select “Enable” to activate the motion event.
Alarm In Select “Enabl e” to activate the alarm event. The network camera supports 1 al arm input port. - Type: Choose the type of alarm you wish to use from the drop-down list. - Dwell Time: Set the dwell time of an event lasts f or the specif ied dwell time from the point of detection of an alarm input.
Manual Trigger This option makes use of t he manual trigger button provided on th e live view page, which is used to start or stop the ev ent type manually . Alternatively the event can be trigger ed via the product's API (Application Progr amming Interface).
Motion Moti on detection is used to generate an alarm wh enever movement occur s (or stops) in the video image. A total of 8 Motion and/or Mask windows can be cr eated and conf igured. Motion is detected in def ined Motion windows, which are placed in the video image to tar get specif ic areas.
• Motion Detection Setting The behavior f or each window is def ined by adjusting the Threshold and Sensitivit y , as described below . A motion index is a set of par ameters describing Window Name, T ype, Threshold, Sensitivit y , and Dwell Time. Window T ypes is one of Motion and Mask windows.
2) Event-Out SMTP(E-Mail) The Net work Camera c an be conf igured to send ev ent and error email messages via SMTP (Simple Mail T r ansfer Pr otocol).
- Login Method: Set the Weakest method allowed to the highest/safest method supported by the mail server. The most secur e method is listed in the drop-down list: L o g i n / P l a i n • SMTP(E-Mail) Receiver - Receiver: Enter an em ail address. Y ou can also regi ster the e-m ail address of recipients up to 8.
• JPEG Setting - Pre-event: A pre-ev ent buffer contain s images from the time imm ediately preceding the event trigger . These are stored internally in the serv er . This buffer can be v ery useful when checking to see what happened to cause the ev ent trigger .
Alarm Out When th e network camer a detects an ev ent, it can control external equipment connected to its alarm output port. Check the bo x to enable and then select either: - Enable: When you select “Ena ble alarm out”, the alarm will be activ ated for as long as the event is activ e.
▼ Audio Alert When th e network camer a detects an ev ent, it can ou tput a predef ined audio data f ile to an external speaker . Check the box to enable the service. • Audio Alert Setting To use the audio alert wi th the network camera, an au dio data file made by user must be uploaded from your PC.
Audio Recorder T o use the Audio Recor der tool to make an audio f ile for Audio Alert f unction, you must install t he Revo Remote Pro HD progr am on the installation CD at f irst.
Record When th e network camer a detects an ev ent, it can re cord t he vide o stre am to t he Mic ro SD Ca rd (not supplied) or NAS (Network Attached Device) as a st orage device. Check the En able record checkbo x to enable the service. • Record Setting - Overwrite: Click checkbox to overwrite the storage device.
Note2: Network File System (NFS) is a network file system protocol, all owing a user on a client computer to access files over a network in a manner similar to how local storage is accessed. NF S, like many other protocols, builds on the Open Network Computing Remote Procedure Cal l (ONC RPC) system.
3) Event Map The e vent map allows y ou to change the settings and establish a schedule f or each event trigger from the Network Camer a. Y ou can register the event map up to max. 1 5. Click Add button to make a new ev ent map and the fo llowing popup window will be displayed.
• General Enter the name for a new event map . • Event In Select an event type in the drop down list. • Event Out - E-mail: Select email addresses you w ant to send via email that an event h as occurred. - FTP: Select checkbox besi de FTP to record and saves images to an FTP server when an event has occurred.
2) RS-485 • RS485 setting -. Baud rate - Select a Baud Rate in the drop-down list. (Default 96 00 bps) -. Data bits - Select Data Bits in the drop-down list. (Def ault 8 bits) -. Parit y bits - Select Parit y Bits in the drop-down list. (Default NONE) -.
3.5.6 System 1) I nformation Y ou can enter the system information . This page is very usef ul when you refer device inf ormation after installation. • Device Name Configuration Enter the device name. • Location Configuration Enter the location information.

HTTPS For greater security, th e Network Camera can be configured to use HT TPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol over SSL (Secure Socket L ayer)). That is, all communication that would otherwi se go via HTTP will instead go via an encrypted HTTPS connection.
IP Filtering Checking the Enab le IP address filtering box enables the IP address filtering function . Up to 256 IP address entries may be specified (a sin gle entry can contain multiple IP addresses). Click th e Add button to add new filtered addresses.

Basic • IP Address Configuration: - Obtain IP address via DHCP: Dynamic Host Config uration Protocol (DHCP) is a prot ocol that lets network administrator s centrally manage and automate th e assignment of IP addresses on a network. DHCP is enabled by default.
DDNS • Internet DDNS(Dynamic Domain Name Service) When using the high-speed I nternet with the telephone or cable network, users can oper ate the Network Camer a even on the floating IP environmen t in which IPs are changed at ev ery access. Users should receive an account and pa sswor d by visiting a DDNS service like http://www .
RTP Hav e a setting for sending and r eceiving an audio or video on a real-time basis. These settings are the IP address, port number, and Ti me-To-Live value to u se for the media stream(s) in multicast H.264 format. Only certain IP addresses and port number s should be used for multicast streams.
UPnP The Network Camera includes support for UPnP™ . UPnP™ is enabled by default, and the Network Camera then is automatically detected b y operating systems and clients th at support this protocol . Note: UPnP™ must be installed on your workstati o n if running Windows XP.
QoS Quality of Service (QoS) provides the m eans to guarantee a certain level of a specified resource to selected traffic on a network. Quality can be defined as a maintained level of bandwidth, low latency, and no packet losses.
• Auto Traffic Control Set a limitation on user network resource s by designating the maxi mum bandwidth. - Maximum bandwidth: In case of sharing other network progr ams or equipment, it is possible to set a limitation on the maxim u m bandwidth in the unit of Mbit/s or kbit/s.
• NAT traversal Settings - Enable: when enabled, the network camera at tempt to configure port mapping in a NAT router on your network, using UPnP™. Bonjour The network camera includes support for Bonj our. When enabled , the network camera is automatically detected by operating systems and clients that support this protocol.
6) Maintenance • Maintenance Server - Restart: The unit is restarted without c hanging any of the settings. Use this m ethod if the unit is not functioning properly. - Reset: The unit is restarted and most current se tting s are reset to factory default val ues.
Note: Backup and R estore can only be used on the same u nit running the same f irmware. This feature is n ot intended for multi-conf igur ations or f or f irmwar e upgrades. 7) Support The support page provides valuable informati on on troubleshooting and contact information, should you require technical assistance.
3.6 Playback The Playback window co ntains a list of recordings made to the memory card. It shows each recor ding's start time, length, the event type used to start the recording, calendar and time slice bar indicates if the r ecording is existed or not.

3.8 Resetting to the f actory default settings To reset the Network Cam era to the original factory settings, g o to the Setup>System> Maintenance web page (described in “3.
4. Appendix 4.1 Troubleshooting T roubleshooting: If pr oblems occur , verify the insta llation of the Network Cam era with the instructions in this manual and with other oper ating equipment. Isolate the problem to the specif ic piece of equipment in the system and ref er to the equipment manual for f urther information.
