2 32 Getting St arted 3 Face the A mark on the batte ry up, and ins ert it into the battery charger. Insert the battery into the battery charger at an angl e, and t hen fit into pla ce. The indicator lamp is lit while char ging and t urns off w hen th e battery is f ully charged .
2 33 Getting St arted 2 Face the A mark on the battery towards the outside of the camera, and insert the battery until it locks into place. To remo ve the battery , push the battery lock lever in the directio n of 2 .

3 54 Shooting • Wh en th e bu ilt-i n f lash is us ed in J mode, the shutter speed automati cally chang es over a range from 1/180 seconds to a slow shutter spee d depending on the l ens being used. The shut ter s pee d is lo cked at 1/ 180 s econd s whe n a le ns oth er than a DA, DA L, D FA, FA J, FA or F le ns is used.

3 75 Shooting t Memo •I n Y mode or whe n k of S mode is selected , specific HDR settings are used and HDR Capture cannot be set. • The Auto Align feature can be se t if you access [HDR Capture ] from the A 1 menu. • When th e drive mo de is set to [Int erval Sho oting], [Auto Al ign] is fixed to [Of f].
3 76 Shooting By shaki ng the Shak e Reduct ion unit, a m oiré redu ction eff ect simulating that of a low-pass filter can be achieved . Set in th e cont rol pane l or [AA Fi lter Simulator] of the A 3 m enu. u Caution • This functi on canno t be used in some capture mo des or i n combinati on with some other functions.
4 77 Playback Playback fu nctions can be se t from the playba ck mode palette as well as the B 1 m enu (p .25). Press B in single ima ge displa y of the play back mo de to displ ay the playback mo de palette. *1 Not available w hen a movie is displayed.

4 82 Playback Connect the camer a to a com puter using a USB ca ble. Make sure to have a commer cially av ailable US B cable equippe d with a micro B te rminal. 1 Turn the computer o n. 2 Turn the camera off. 3 Open the terminal cover of the camera, and connect the USB cable to the USB terminal.
4 83 Playback u Caution • Only JPEG image s captured with this camera can be r esized or cropped. • Images al ready re sized or cro pped t o the minim um file siz e cannot be proc essed. Change s the number of recorded pixels of the selected im age, and saves i t as a ne w file.
