- 9 - MI C PL ACEMEN T - 9 - For the best performance, the HS1 microphone should be positioned just at the corner of the mouth, as close as possible without being in front of the user’ s mouth.
The RODE HS1 has been designed with complete adjustability in mind, ensuring maximum comfort and security of fi t for each user . Three axes of movement confi gure the micr ophone placement for optimal audio quality . T o custom fi t the HS1, you may wish to try on the microphone fi rst.
- 11 - ADJUST THE HEIGHT OF THE HS1 T o place the retainer at the ideal position just below and behind the ear lobe, change the position of the retainer on the headband wire. T o re-position, loosen the retainer cap using the scr ewdriver provided in your HS1 case.
F IT T IN G Y OUR H S 1 - 12 - PIVOT THE HS1 Y ou may adjust the proximity of the microphone to your mouth by pivoting the mic. Push the microphone up or down at the retainer to cr eate a rotating movement until you fi nd the angle that positions the HS1 microphone closest to your mouth.
- 13 - F IT T IN G Y OUR H S 1 - 13 - ADJUST THE LENGTH OF THE HS1 If the HS1 is extending beyond your mouth, or is not in close enough proximity to it, you may alter the length by pushing or pulling the body through the r etainer . Firstly , ensure the retainer cap has been loosened, but not r emoved completely .
LEFT/RIGHT CONFIGURA TION OF HS1 Depending on personal prefer ence, the HS1 can sit at either the left or right hand side of the mouth. T o change left/right confi guration, unscrew the r etainer cap completely using the screwdriver provided. (This is best done over a table or work surface to ensur e no parts are misplaced).
- 15 - ERGONOMIC ADJUSTMENT For further ergonomic adjustment, you may bend the micr ophone tube along the body and adapt its shape. This allows the microphone to suit the contours of an individual face for complete compatibility with the wearer . Note: The HS1 tube arm is designed to be resilient and malleable for optimal adjustment.
C ONNEC T OR AND C ABL E - 16 - The HS1’ s connections have been designed using the RØDE MiCon™ connector system, which provides seamless integration with a wide range of wireless systems for your convenience, while maintaining the headset’ s discreet appearance.
- 17 - C ONNEC T OR AND C ABL E - 17 - Then, attach the corresponding adaptor for your wir eless system to the remaining connection on your MiCon™ cable, and plug in to your wireless system (MiCon™ adaptors sold separately). For further management, excess cable can be threaded thr ough the groove in the cable management clip pr ovided.
INCLUD ED AC CESSOR IES - 18 - WA TER RESIST ANT POP FIL TER The pop fi lter is an optional attachment to your HS1 which reduces plosives (gusts of wind noise caused by hard sounds such as ‘p’ or ‘t’.
- 19 - INCLUD ED AC CESSOR IES - 19 - MINI-FURRY For increased wind pr otection, a mini-furry windshield is provided with the HS1. The windshield is ideal for situations such as outdoor performances, where wind noise may distort the audio quality of the mic.
ST OR A GE AND CARE - 20 - When not in use, always keep your HS1 in the storage case provided. Close and snap the storage case for complete pr otection. If you fi nd you cannot open the case even after snapping open the clips (for example following a fl ight), turn the dial at the front of the case slowly , in the direction marked ‘open’.
- 21 - ST OR A GE AND CARE - 21 - Inside the case, you will fi nd a sachet of moisture absorbent crystals. Please retain these crystals and stor e with the HS1 to keep the microphone in ideal condition. Eventually this pack of crystals will need to be dried.
