JM-5 MIDI Implementation 8 ❍ Expression (Controller number 11) • This adjusts the volume of a Part. It can be used independently from Vol- ume messages. Expression messages are used for musical expression within a performance, e.g., expression pedal movements, crescendo and decrescendo.
JM-5 MIDI Implementation 9 On GS instruments, NRPN can be used to modify the following parameters. The range of values for relative change parameters will be different with certain models. Please see the explanation that follows the chart.: ❍ RPN MSB/LSB (Controller number 101, 100) •N ot transmitted when "RPN" RX Event is Off.
JM-5 MIDI Implementation 10 ● POLY (Controller number 127) • The corresponding channel is set to Mode 3. ■ System Realtime Messages ● Active Sensing • This message is transmitted at intervals of approximately 250 ms.
