Page 10 INST ALLING THE POWER HEAD TO THE A TT ACHMENT See Figure 2. WARNING: Never install or adjust any attachment while power head is running. Failure to stop the engine can cause serious personal injury . The attachment connects to the power head by means of a coupler device.
Page 11 A TT ACHING THE FRONT HANDLE - CS30 AND SS30 See Figure 4. n Remove the front handle, bolt, flat washer , lock washer , and wing nut from the Operator’ s Kit. n Install the front handle onto the top side of the drive shaft housing and move it to a comfortable position.

Page 15 FUELING AND REFUELING THE TRIMMER FUEL MIXTURE This product is powered by a 2-cycle engine and requires pr e-mi xing gasoli ne and 2-cy cle oil. Pr e-m ix unl eaded gaso- line and 2-cycle engine oil in a clean 1 gallon container ap- proved for gasoline.

Page 17 n Inspect and clear the ar ea of any hidden objects such as glass, rocks, concr ete, fencing, wire, wood, metal, etc. n Never use blades near sidewalks, fencing, posts, build- ings or other immovable objects. n Never use a blade after hitting a hard object without first inspecting it for damage.
Page 18 OPERA TION ST ARTING AND STOPPING See Figures 21 - 23. TO ST ART A COLD ENGINE: DO NOT squeeze the thr ottle trigger until the engine starts and runs. n Lay the trimmer on a flat, bare surface. n PRIME - Press the primer bulb 7 times. n SET the start lever to the ST ART position.

Page 20 T o install the spool retainer: n T urn the spool retainer clockwise for model CS30. T ur n the spool retainer counterclockwise for models SS30 and BC30.
