4 Always use proper guard with grinding wheel. A guard pr otects operator from broken wheel fragments. Accessories must be rated for at least the speed recommended on the tool war ning label. Wheels and other accessories running over rated speed can fly apart and cause injury .
5 An extension cord s hould not be used unless absolutely necessary . Use of improper extension cord could resu lt in a risk of fire and electri c shock. If extensi on cord must be used, make sur e: a. T ha t pins o n plu g o f ext ens ion c ord are the sam e number , size and shape as those of plug on charger .

11 CHARGING A COOL BA TTERY P ACK If battery pack is within normal temperature range, the red LED on char ger will come on. NOTE: If the char ger does not char ge the battery pack under normal circumstances, return both the battery pack and charger to your nearest Authorized Service Center for electrical check.
12 OPERA TION TO INST ALL BA TTER Y P ACK See Figure 4. Place the battery pack on the tool. Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack snap into place and the battery pack is se cured on the tool before beginning operation. TO REMOVE BA TTERY P ACK See Figure 4.
13 DANGER: Never attach a wood cutting or carving blade of any type to this grinder . It is only designed for grinding and sanding. Use for any other purpose is not recommended and creates a hazar d, which will result in serious injury . DANGER: Never attach a type 1 straight or cut-off wheel to this ang le grind er .
14 POSITIONING THE GUARD See Figures 7 - 10. The guard on the grinder should be corr ectly installed depending on which side the handle is mounted. Never use the grinder without the guard corr ectly in place. WARNING: Never place the guard so that it is in front of the grinder as shown in figure 7.
15 OPERA TION OPERA TING THE GRINDER See Figure 12. Always carefully select and use grinding wheels that are recommended for the material to be ground. Make sure that the minimum operating speed of any accessory wheel selected is 6,500 r/min. or more.

17 MAINTENANCE REPLACING THE GUARD See Figure 13. WARNING: Do not change or loosen guar d scr ew . Failu re to heed this warning may cause the guard to become loose during operation resulting in serious personal injury . After extended use, the guard may wear and need replacing.
