4 n Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when per- forming an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the cutting tool “live” and shock the operator.
5 n An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely necessary. Use of improper extension cord could result in a risk of fire and electric shock. If extension cord must be used, make sure: a . T h a t p i n s o n p l u g o f e x t e n s i o n c o r d a r e t h e s a m e n u m b e r , s i z e a n d s h a p e a s t h o s e o f plug on charger.

10 A TT ACHING CIRCLE CUTTER See Figure 4. n Remove Battery Pack From speed saw . n Assem ble cir cle cutter if necess ary . Refer to “Assemb ling Circle Cutter .” n Remove bit if necessary . Refer to “Inserting/Removing Bits” in this manual. n Place adaptor under depth adjustment ring.
11 OPERA TION Allow the battery pack to remain in the charger for 15 to 30 minutes. When the battery pack reaches normal voltage range, the red LED should come on. If the red LED does not come on after 30 minutes, this may indicate a defective battery pack and should be replaced.
12 INST ALLING BA TTER Y P ACK See Figure 6. n Place battery pack on the speed saw . n Align raised rib on battery pack with groove in saw’ s bat- tery port. n Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack snap in place and th at battery pack is secur ed on the tool before beginning operation.
13 USING CIRCLE CUTTER See Figure 9. n Assem ble cir cle cutter if necess ary . Refer to “Assemb ling Circle Cutter” in this manual. n Attach circle cutter to speed saw if necessary . Refer to “Attaching Circle Cutter” in this manual. n Adjust depth of cut if necessary .
14 WARNING: T o prevent accidental starting that could cause serious personal injury , always remove the battery pack from the tool when making adjust- ments.
15 MAINTENANCE WARNING: When servicing, use only identical Ryobi replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during power tool operation or when blowing dust.
