13 Connections (without Scart leads) If you do not have any s cart leads and your TV is not Q Link type, you c an connect your DVD Recorde r to a TV and Satellite Rece iver using RF leads. Using this connection method may however be difficult to obtain a clear pi cture from the Satellit e Receiver.

18 Auto Setup (with out Q Link F unctions) (continued) Removing Int erference In some cases, interference (lines or patterning) or a very poor picture may appear on the TV when the DVD Recorder is connected. If this happens, follow the steps below to change the video playback channel (RF output channel) to re move the interference.
19 Selecting TV screen type The aspect ratio is factory set t o 4:3 for a regular television. You do not hav e to change this setting if you have a regular 4 : 3 aspect television. Preparation ≥ Turn on the television a nd select the app ropriate video input to suit the connections to this unit.

25 Playing di scs (continued) Using menus to play MP3 dis cs [MP3] This unit can play MP3 files recorded on CD-R/RW with a computer. Files are treated as tracks and folders are treated as groups. “Total” means total numb er of all MP3 f iles (all tracks in all groups) recorded in the d isc.

44 Using the DIRECT NAVIGATOR (continue d) Erasing parts of a programme [RAM] The specified parts of the programme are erased completely when you use this procedure and cannot be retrieved. Check the programme carefully to ensure it isn’t one you want to keep.

69 Glossary Bitstream This is the comp ressed form of digital signals. A decoder decodes these signals into 5.1 surround and multi-channel signals. Channel (when refe rring to DVD) Sound is divided into channels based on the sound’s rol e. For example, 5.
