Getting star ted 13 Charg ing the batter y Use the charger t o charge the battery before using it f or the first time. A computer can be also used to charge the ba tter y by connecting them via the USB cable. Use only Samsung-appro ved chargers , batteries, and cables.
Getting star ted 14 2 Plug the USB pow er adaptor into an electr ic socket. • The device can be used while it is char ging , but it may take longer to fully char ge the battery . • If the device receiv es an unstable power supply while charging , the touch screen may not function.

Basics 21 Home screen la y out Home screen The Home screen is the starting point for acc essing all of the device’ s f eatures. It displays widgets, shortcuts to apps, and mor e. Widgets are small apps tha t launch specific app functions to provide inf or mation and con venient access on y our Home screen.

Basics 23 Apps scr een The Apps scr een displays ic ons for all apps , including newly installed apps. On the Home screen, tap Apps to open the Apps scr een. T o view other panels, scroll left or right, or select a screen indicator at the bott om of the screen.
Basics 24 Indicator ic ons Indicator icons appear on the status bar at the t op of the screen. The icons listed in the table below are most c ommon. The status bar ma y not appear at the top of the scr een in some apps. T o display the status bar , drag down fr om the top of the screen.
