7 G et started First st eps to operati ng your phone SIM card information When you subscribe to a cellular network, you receive a plug-in SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card loaded with your subscripti on details, such as your PIN, and available optional services.
8 Get started Low battery indicator When the battery is low: • a warning tone sounds, • the low battery message displays, and • the empty battery icon blinks. If the battery lev el becomes too low , the phone automatically turns off . Recharge your battery .

22 Step outside the phone Use Bluetooth Y our phone is equipped with Bluetooth technology which enables you to connect the phone wirelessly to other Bluetooth devices and exchange data with them, talk hands-free, or control the phone r emotely . 23 En t e r t e x t AB, T9, Number, and Symbol mode Y ou can enter text for some features, such as messaging, Phonebook, or Ca lendar , using AB mode, T9 mode, Number mo de, and Symbol mode. Changing the text input mode The text inpu t mode indic ator appears when the cursor is in a text field .

Making a call from Phonebook Once you have stored a number in Phonebook, you can dial the number by selecting it from Phonebook. p. 31 Y ou can also use the speed dial feat ure to assign your most frequently called numbers to specific number keys .
Call functio ns 27 Using the headset Use the headset to m ake or answer calls withou t holding the phone. Connect the he adset to the jack on th e right side of the phone. The button on th e head set works as listed below: Options during a call Y ou can access a number of functions during a call .

Menu functions Phonebook (Menu 2) 31 T o reset the call timers, press < Reset >. Y ou need to enter the phone pass word. Call cost (Menu 1.7) This network feature displays the cost of calls. This menu is available only if supported by your SIM card.
32 Menu functions Using Phonebook options While viewing the contact details, press < Options > to access the following options: • Edit : edit contact information. • Send message : send an SMS or MMS message to the selec ted number , or an e-mail to the select ed address.
Menu functions Phonebook (Menu 2) 33 Group (Menu 2.3) Use this menu to organise your contacts in caller groups. Creating a new caller gr oup 1. Press < Option s > and select Add . 2. Enter a nam e for the group. 3. Select the caller ID line and set an image.
34 Menu functions Managing speed dial entries From the Speed dial screen, press < Options > to access the following options: • Add : assign a number to an unassigned key . • View : check the name and num ber assigned to a key . • Change : assign a different number to a key .
Menu functions Applications (Menu 3) 35 Management (Menu 2.7) Use this menu to manage Phonebook. • Saving location : select a default memory location to save contact s. If you select Ask on saving , the phone will ask yo u to select a m emory locat ion when saving a number .
36 Menu functions • Upgrade : upgrade the application to the latest version. • Protection : protect the application from being deleted. • Send in formation : send the URL containing the applic ation via SM S. Accessing Java settings Y ou can select a connection profil e for accessing Java services.

42 Menu functions 4. Press [Left] or [Right] to select the uni t you want to conv ert to. The equivalent value for the amount you entered displays. Timer (Menu 3.9) Use this menu to set a period of time for the phone to count down. The phone will sound an alarm when the specified period of time has expired.
Menu functions Browser (Menu 4) 43 Browser (Menu 4) The Wireless Application Protocol (W AP) browser on your phone allows you to access the wireless web. From the wireless w eb, you can access up-to-date information and a wide variety of media content, such as games, wallpapers, ringtones, and music files.

Menu functions Settings (Menu 9) 79 Phone lock (Menu 9.7.3) Use this menu to lock the phone from unauthorised use. When this feature is enabled, you must enter a 4- to 8-digit phone password each time the phone is switched on. The password is preset to 00000000 .
80 Menu functions Creating a profile 1. Press < New >. If a profile has already been saved, press < Options > and select Add new connection . 2. Specify each information: • Profile name : enter a profile name. • Homepage URL : enter the addres s of the homepage of your service provider .
81 Using profile options Press < Options > to access th e following options: • Edit : edit the selec ted profile. • Delete : delete the profile. • Add new connect ion : add a new profil e. Reset settings (Menu 9.9) Use this menu to reset the phone’s settings you have changed.
82 Solve prob lems “Enter PU K” • The PI N code h as bee n entered in correctly three times in succession, and the phone is now blocked. Enter th e PUK supplied by your serv ice provider . “No service,” “Network failure,” or “Not done” displa ys • The network connection has been lost.
83 No number is dialled whe n you re-call a Phonebook entry •U s e t h e Contacts list menu to ensure the number has been stored co rrectly . • Re-store the number , if necessary .
84 Health and safety information SAR tests are conduct ed using standard operating positions with the phone tr ansmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certifi ed power level, the actual SAR level of the phone while operating can be well below the maxim u m value.
85 Health and safety information • Extreme temperatures will affect the charging capacity of your battery: it may require cooling or warming first. • Do not leave the battery in hot or cold places because the capacity and lifetime of the battery will be reduced.
