6 Section 1 Activating Y our Phone When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are provide d with a plug-in SIM card loaded with your subscription details, su ch as your PIN, any optional services available, and many others.

Backlight A backlight illu minates th e display and the keypad. When you press any key or open the phone, the backlight comes on.

24 Section 3 Adjusting the Call V olume During a call, if you want to adjust the earpiece volume, use the V olume ke ys on th e left side of the phone. Press the key to increas e the volume lev el and the key to decrease the level. In Idle mode, you can also adjust the ring volum e using these keys while the phone is open.

26 Section 3 All calls This menu lets you view the 60 most recent calls you receiv ed, dialed, and miss ed. The number or name, i f already stored in your Phonebook, displays with th e number of occurr ences of each number .

28 Section 3 Delete all This menu allows you to delete all of the records in each call recor d separately , or you can delete all of your call recor ds at one time. 1. Highlight the type of call s you want to delete and press the key to make a check mark .

The labels o n the bottom line of the display just above each key in dicate their current r ole. Predictive text mode The T9 pr edictive text entry mode is used to r educe the number of key strokes associ ated with entering text.

Section 8 94 Time & Date Settings This menu allows you to chan ge the current time and date displayed. The following options ar e available: • Set time: allows you to change the ho ur and minute. • AM/PM: allows you to set either AM or PM. • Time format: allows you to select whether your time is displayed in 12 hour or 24 hour format.

Note: Automatic updates of time and date do not change th e time you have set for alarm set tings or calendar memos.
Section 8 96 • Auto redial: when this option is ch ecked, the phone makes up to ten attempts to redial a phone number after an unsuccessfu l call. Note: The interval betwee n call attempts varies. • Anykey answer: when this option is checked, you can answer an incoming call by pressing any key , except the key or the Reject soft key .
