2 .2 C HAPTER T WO : I NSTALLA TION Connecting Cable TV Y ou can connect differ ent cable systems to your TV , including cable without a cable box, and cable with a cable box that descrambles some or all channels.
C HAPTER T WO : I NSTALLA TION 2 .3 I NST ALLA TION Cable with a Cable box that Descrambles All Channels 1 Find the cable that is connected to the ANTENNA OUT terminal on your cable box. This terminal might be labeled “ANT OUT”, “VHF OUT”, or simply , “OUT”.

C HAPTER T WO : I NSTALLA TION 2 .5 I NST ALLA TION Connecting a VCR These instructions assume that you have already connected your TV to an antenna or a cable TV system (according to the instructions on pages 2.1-2.3). Skip step 1 if you have not yet connected to an antenna or a cable system.
2 .6 C HAPTER T WO : I NSTALLA TION I NST ALLA TION Connecting a Camcorder The side panel jacks on your TV make it easy to connect a camcorder to your TV . They allow you to view the camcorder tapes without using a VCR. 1 Locate the A/V output jacks on the camcorder .
C HAPTER T WO : I NSTALLA TION 2 .7 I NST ALLA TION Connecting a DVD Player(480i) The rear panel jacks on your TV make it easy to connect a DVD player to your TV . Connecting to Y , P B , P R 1 Connect a set of audio cables between the DVD audio in jacks on the TV and the AUDIO OUT jacks on the DVD player .
2 .8 C HAPTER T WO : I NSTALLA TION ▼ 3 Replace the cover . Remove the batteries and store them in a cool, dry place if you won ’ t be using the remote contr ol for a long time. The remote contr ol can be used up to about 23 feet from the TV . (Assuming typical TV usage, the Batteries last for about one year .

3 .4 C HAPTER T HREE : TV O PERATION O PERA TION Adjusting Manual Convergence If the color appears spread out or “smeared” on the scr een, the convergence pr obably needs alignment. Be sure to use the remote contr ol for the convergence adjustments.

3 .8 C HAPTER T HREE : TV O PERATION O PERA TION Memorizing the Channels Y our TV can memorize and store all of the available channels for both “of f-air” (antenna) and cable channels. After the available channels are memorized, use the CH and CH but- tons to scan through the channels.

3 .10 C HAPTER T HREE : TV O PERATION O PERA TION Changing Channels Using the Channel Buttons Press the CH or CH button to change channels. When you press CH or CH , the TV changes channels in sequence. Y ou will see all the chan- nels that the TV has memorized.

C HAPTER T HREE : TV O PERATION 3 .15 O PERA TION Using Automatic Picture Settings Y our TV has three automatic picture settings (“Dynamic”, “Standar d” and “Movie”) that are preset at the factory . Y ou can activate either Dynamic, Standard or Movie by pressing P .
3 .16 C HAPTER T HREE : TV O PERATION Sound Control Adjusting the V olume O PERA TION Using Mute At any time, you can temporarily cut off the sound using the Mute button. 1 Press the Mute button and the sound cuts off. The word “Mute” will appear in the lower -left corner of the screen.
