U se ba sic funct ions > P ro duct layou t 11 Reset your player If your player is frozen or unr esponsive, press and hold the Power/Lock button for 8-10 seconds. This will reset the player without damaging applications or data saved in the player's memory .
12 Con n e ct to a P C and ch arg e t he b atter y Connect your player to a PC and charge the battery before you use your player for the first time or when you have not used it for a long time. Caution The rechargeable battery incorporated in this product is not user replaceable.
U se ba sic funct ions > Con nect to a P C and charge the batter y 13 About the battery • Charge and store the battery at 5˚ C ~ 35˚ C. • Do not charge the battery for more than 12 hours or leave the battery fully discharged for a long time. Doing so may shorten the battery life.
14 T u rn you r pla yer on and lock the buttons T ur n your player on or off Press and hold to turn your player on or off. Note If you do not use your player for 5 minutes, it will automatically turn off. Lock or unlock the buttons Lock the buttons to prevent any unwanted operations while listening to music or playing videos.
15 A ccess me nu s from t he m a in me nu Select menus from the main menu. When you turn on the player , the main menu appears, which allows you to run functions you want. ▲ Main menu In the main menu, use to scroll to a menu you want and press . Use the menu you select.
16 U se the m ini pla ye r Y ou can listen to music with the mini player when you switch from the music player or the FM radio to other menus that do not have the music play feature. From a menu without playback function, select . Listen to music with the mini player .
17 Enter text Enter text using the virtual keyboard. Example: Rename a playlist Select a music playlist, and then press and select <Rename>. See page 29. Select a button which has a character you want to enter . ■ T o delete characters, select .
18 T a s k mana g e r View thumbnails of active menus. Press and hold while using video, music, picture, text, or FM radio menus. Active menus appear as thumbnail images. The current menu does not appear in the list. Press and hold . Select a menu, and then press to open the menu.

M anag e me dia les > D ow nload med ia les 20 Download files using your player as a remo vable disk Connect your player to a PC using the USB cable. On your PC, open <My Computer> and then the <Z3>. Select a folder you want. Copy files from the PC to your player .
M anag e me dia les > D ow nload med ia les 21 Caution • T o avoid damage to your player and corruption of your files, do not disconnect the USB cable while files are being transferred. • Do not disconnect your player when playing files stored in your player on a PC.
22 F ile Explor er Search files by folder , and open or delete files. Search for files In the main menu, select <My Files>. Select a folder from the list. Scroll thr ough the file list. Select a file you want. Delete files Select a folder from the list.

Pla y video and music > Videos 25 Insert a bookmark Y ou can insert a bookmark at the point you want and go to the bookmark to play from that point. While viewing a video, press to insert a bookmark at any point. Select <Bookmark>, and then <Add>.
26 M usic Play music files stored in your player . T o download files, see "Download media files" on page 19. Note If the file library is updated, your player will clear the list of files displayed in <Recently added> and <Most played>.
Pla y video and music > M usic 27 Play music files In the main menu, select <Music>. Select a music category . ■ T o play the file you last played, select <Now playing>. Select a file to play . Control playback by using the buttons. See "Music playback screen.
Pla y video and music > M usic 28 Repeat a section of a track Y ou can select a section of a track to repeat. From the music playback scr een, press and then select <Activate study mode>. Press at the beginning of the section you want to repeat.
Pla y video and music > M usic 29 Cr eate your own playlists Y ou can create your own playlist by adding music files you want. There ar e 5 default playlists. Add music files to a playlist From the music category list, select a file you want to add to a playlist, and then press .

U se additional applicat ions > Te x t s 34 Insert a bookmark Y ou can insert a bookmark on the page you want and go to the bookmark to view that page of a document. Go to the page you want to bookmark, and then press . Select <Bookmark>, and then <Add>.
35 FM R adio Y ou can listen to the FM radio as well as save radio stations. Note Y ou must connect the earphones to your player to listen to the FM radio. The earphones serve as a radio antenna. Listen to the FM r adio In the main menu, select <FM Radio>.
U se additional applicat ions > FM Radio 36 What is RDS? • Radio Data System (RDS) provides the r eception and display of messages such as broadcasting information. The program information such as News, Sports or Music, or the broadcasting station information is displayed on the scr een.
U se additional applicat ions > FM Radio 37 Listen to a favourite radio station In Manual mode, press . Select <Station list>. Current pr eset station Press / to move to another preset station. Use the FM r adio options Y ou can change options for using the FM radio.
38 V oice REC Y ou can recor d voice memos. In the main menu, select <V oice REC>. Press to start recording. ■ The recor ding starts. Press to stop recording. ■ The player saves the recor ded file automatically . Press <Y es> to play the recor ded file.

43 Maintenance of your play er Carefully r ead the following to clean, store, or dispose of your player pr operly . Cleaning • When your player is dirty , wipe it with a soft, clean, dry cloth. • Do not apply cleaners to your player's surface.
44 T roubleshooting When you have a trouble using the player , try the following before contacting a service centr e. Problem Solution My player will not turn on. • Y our player will not tur n on if the battery is completely drained. Recharge the battery and turn the player on again.
