5 Chapter 2 Pin Assignm ent 2.1 Pin Assignment Figure 2.1 shows the pin definition s of FV-M7. T abl e 2 .1 desc ribes the c orrespond ing definiti ons for pins.
6 2.2 Pin description VIN (DC power input): This is the main DC supply for a 3.3V ~ 5V +- 5% DC input power module board. BATTERY (Backup battery): This is the battery backup input that powers the SRAM and RT C w hen main po wer is re moved. T ypical current draw is <10uA.
7 Chapter 3 Operating GPS Locat or Utility GPS Locator Utility V2.61 i s the l atest utili ty for confi guri ng the GPS setti ngs of Sanav GPS receivers. Y ou can fi nd the u tility in the CD (FV-M7UtilityS etup) an d the password is in License.txt. Double c lick on the Setup.
8 3.1 Connecting Com Port After sel ecting the Com Po rt, bard rate and Com mand Setting, click on “ Connect ” and you will be able to d o the config urations.
9 3.2 Functional Windows (Interval Setting) After connecti ng with success, you can view the NMEA da ta from differen t functional wind ows. The configurations can be done in the “ User Setting ” window. On top of the “Us er S etti ng” w indow , t here are several t aps.

18 Chapter 4 Availabl e NMEA Messages 4.1 NMEA Protocol The NMEA p rotocol exp resses th e data in the format of ASC II.
