3 Precautions ■ In case of a problem Do not use t he unit if smoke or a str ange odor co mes from the unit, or if it seems not to function corr ectly. Turn off the power immediately and disconnect the pow er cord, and then cons ult your dea ler or a n Authorized Sanyo Servi ce Center.
4 Bef ore Using the Men u 1 Make connectio ns with all equipment and turn them on . When the pow er is turned on, the camera will perf or m its star tup mov em ents. The camera’ s address and other inf o rmation will be displa yed on the monitor screen.
5 Basic Operations f or P e rf orming Settings in the Menu T o p erform settings in the menu, use the j o ystick lever ( 1 ) on the system cont r o ller and the [ENT ER] button ( 2 ) in the CAMERA ME NU CONTROL screen. • Joystic k lever: Used to m ov e the cu rsor or select menu options.
6 About Setting Men us b Setting menu mode For perf orm ing settings in t he menu, the follo wing two menu modes are av ailable. ● Main menu This menu, which is provided for general users , appears b y pres sing the [MENU] button in t he CAMERA MENU CONTROL screen.
About Sett ing Menus 7 b Setting menu compositi on The set t ing menu (AD V ANCED MENU) conta i ns t he follo wing settings. The menu it em shown with y mark has an adv anced setting screen.
8 Camera Settings (CAMERA) Adjusts vertical sync hronization signal f or the camera. • Internal sync hronization (INT) • P ower source synchronization (L-L) Sets lens aper ture according to the l um inance lev el of the target object. • Auto i r is (A UTO) • Manual iris (MANU) Sets the white balance according to the shooting conditions.
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 9 Sets the AG C (Auto Gain Control) le vel in f our grades . • ON (f our grades) •O F F Sets the gamma correction lev el to adjust the contrast or brightness lev el in f our grades. Switches automatically between color mode and b lack and white mode depending on the luminance of the object being monitored.
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 10 The camera allows y ou to choose the synchronization signal adjustment met hod from the following options. • Internal sync hronization (INT) <Initial set ting> Uses inter nal signal in the ca mera to adjust sync hronization.
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 11 Sets lens aper ture according to the luminance level of the target object . The follo wing methods are availab l e f or s etting lens aper ture.
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 12 Sets the white balance according to the shooting conditions. The follo wing methods are availab le for setting white balance.
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 13 b One-push automati c white balanc e (A WC) In one-push automatic whit e balance setting, adjust white balance for a fix ed sur veillance location b y orienting the lens tow ard the white target object (ex. white wall or paper) .
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 14 Sets the backlight compensation function to get clearer image in backlight condition. The f ollowing metering methods are a vailable f or the bac klight compensation function.
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 15 4 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select a zone to be weighted a nd use the le ver ( vw ) to adjust weighting. Selecting a zone to be weighted shows the corresponding zone on the screen. Av ailable settings: 0 - 7 (The larger the number , the higher the weighting.
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 16 Sets the appropriate shutter speed according to your sur v eillance purpos e. The follo wing shutter speed m odes are availab le. • F ast shutter speed (SHO R T ) • Slow shutter speed (L ONG) If you do not use t he electronic shutter , set [SHUTTER] to “OFF”.
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 17 Fur ther emphasizes the profile of the t arget object. The amount of compensation can be adjusted for the hor izontal or vertical directions. 1 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [APER TURE], use t he leve r ( vw ) to select “ ON y ”, and press the [ENTER] butto n.
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 18 When the A G C function is set t o “O FF”, the gain le vel f or camera’ s video signal can be specified manually . 1 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [A GC], use the lever ( vw ) to select “OFF” , and press the [ENTE R] button.
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 19 Switches automatically between color mod e and blac k and white mode depend ing on the luminance of the object being monitor ed. This fu nction lets you set the filmin g mode to colo r mode during times of no rmal brightness like dayti me or to black and whi te mode duri ng time s of darkne s s li ke night.
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 20 3 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [B URST] and use t he leve r ( vw ) to select “ ON/OFF”. If the camera is c onnected to peripheral de vices lik e frame s witcher , burst ma y occur whe n the viewing mode is switched between the color mode and the b lack and white mode .
Camera Setting s (CAMERA) 21 b Using the blac k and white mode only (B/W) Regardless of the luminance le vel, only use the b lack and white mode to view the image. 1 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [D A Y/NIGHT], use t he leve r ( vw ) to select “ B/W y ”, and press the [ENTER] butto n.
22 Lens Settings (LENS) Y ou can select the focusing mode from the follo wing options. • Auto f ocus (A UTO) • Manual focus (MANU) For z ooming operations, y ou can set the zooming speed and electronic zooming options. Y ou can select the f ocusing mode from the follo wing two options.

Preset pos it ions can be grouped and individual preset position groups can be used for Sequence mode. Selecting a preset number displa ys the screen f or selecting preset options.

P an and Tilt Settings (P AN/TIL T) 31 The pr oportional functi on allows y ou to make the amou nt of movement in the screen constant by changing pan/tilt operation speed during manual operation according to th e zoom magnif ication pow er . 1 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [PROP ORTIONA L] and u se th e lever ( vw ) to select “ON” .
P an and Tilt Settings (P AN/TIL T) 32 When the ti lting limit angle is not explicitly specified, the limit of tilting is -5 degrees to horizontal 0 degrees. If necessary , you can select the tilting limit angle using the fol lowing procedure. By setting the limit angle, the camera cannot be oriented to the direc tion be yond t he limit ang le.
33 A uto Mode Settings (A UT O MODE) The Auto mode can be used to operate the camera au tomatically to monitor m u ltiple surveillance locati ons. There are th ree types of automatic panning avai lable in A uto mode: Sequ ence mode (SEQUENCE), T our mode (T OUR) and Aut o Pan mode (A UTO P AN).
A uto Mode Settin gs (A UT O MODE) 34 The Sequen ce mode allows you to monito r mult iple preset position s sequentia lly by usin g the sequen ce group contai ning preset positions. Y ou can create up to four sequence gr o ups. 1 Create a sequence gr oup by ad ding preset positions.
A uto Mode Settin gs (A UT O MODE) 35 The A uto Pa n mode allo ws yo u to pan between t wo surveilla nce locati ons in loop. In th is mode, y ou set a sta r t poin t, an end point, mov ing spee d, panni ng direction and othe r options. Y ou can crea t e up to f our Aut o Pa n gro ups.
A uto Mode Settin gs (A UT O MODE) 36 Y ou can repeat a monitoring process by recording an image track of all camera pan, tilt and zoom operations. Y ou can create up to four imag e tracks. 1 Use t he joysti ck lever ( xy ) to select [TOUR], use the lever ( vw ) to select a n umber assigned to image track (1 - 4), and press the [ENT ER] button.
A uto Mode Settin gs (A UT O MODE) 37 Y ou can au tomatically return the su rveillance status to the specified surveillance mode after the specified duration has passed without any operations. 1 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [A UTO RETURN] and use the le ver ( vw ) to sel ect the surveillanc e mode to ret urn to automaticall y .
38 Alarm Settings (ALA RM) This section describes the alarm input/output setting for the camera. The ALARM IN screen allows you to perf or m the alarm settings (input preferences, alar m action, etc.) for each alarm input number . The ALARM OUT screen allows you to perform t he alarm output settings for each alarm output number .
Alarm Settings (ALARM) 39 The ALARM I N screen allows you to perform the alarm setting s (input p references, alarm action, etc.) for each al arm input numb er . 1 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [ALARM IN], use t he leve r ( vw ) to select a n alarm input n umber (1 - 8), and press the [ENTER] button.
Alarm Settings (ALARM) 40 8 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [DURA TION] and use the lever ( vw ) to select the in ter v al after which the next ala rm becomes in effect. When an alar m is detected, another alarm signal will not be output until the duration specified in this s etting has passed.
Alarm Settings (ALARM) 41 The Alar m Disable func tion allows the al arm input to b e ignored for the specif ied duration during man ual pan/til t/zoom operati ons and after man ual operat ion. 1 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [ALARM DISABLE], use the lever ( vw ) to select “ON/OFF”, and pres s the [ENTER] button.
Alarm Settings (ALARM) 42 3 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [PO SITION] – “SET y ”, and press th e [ENTER] b utton. The AREA screen for setting sur veil l ance area appears. In this screen, while panning or tilting t he cam era, set t he sur v eillance area to detect movement.
Alarm Settings (ALARM) 43 Set the alarm output options f or the alarm detection in the sur v eillance area (ARE A 1 - 4). After returning to the MOTION ZONE screen, perform the f ollowing procedure. 1 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [ALARM OUT] and use the lever ( vw ) to select an al arm output terminal.
44 Priv acy Mask Setti ngs (PRIV A CY MASK) Depending on the target object, a cert ain part of the surveillance image may need to be protected for privacy . Y ou can use the privac y mask (gray) to co ver such part for privac y . Up to 24 pri v acy m asks can be set.
45 P assw or d Settings (P ASSW ORD) Pass wor d can be used t o limit the menu setting o perations to specific users. b Enabli ng passw ord loc k When the passw ord lock is enabled, users are prompte d to enter passw or d to display the menu screens. Set the pass word b y displaying t he P ASSWORD screen under the respective menus.
P assw or d Settings (P ASSW ORD) 46 b Changing the passw ord 1 Use t he joysti ck lever ( xy ) to select [P ASSWORD] – “SET y ”, and press th e [ENTER] b utton. The P ASSWORD screen appears. 2 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [P ASSW ORD CHANGE] – “SET y ”, and p ress the [ENTER] button.
47 Langua ge Settings (LANGU A GE) Per forms l anguage sett ings fo r displ ay . The init ial se tt ing is Engl ish. 1 Use t he joysti ck lever ( xy ) to select [LANGU AGE] – “SET y ”, and press th e [ENTER] b utton. The LANGUA G E screen appears.
48 Miscellaneous Settings (OPTION) The OPTION menu is used to perfo rm miscellaneous settings for the cam era. Sets the type and pos ition of the information displa yed on the monitor . Rotates the display ed image up or down, left or right elect ronically when the cam era tilts bey ond the straight down position.

Miscellaneous Settings (OPTION) 50 Rotates the disp lay ed image up or down, le ft or right electronically when the camera t ilts bey ond th e straight down position . 1 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [A UTO FL IP] and use the lever ( vw ) to select “ON”.
Miscellaneous Settings (OPTION) 51 Cleans the camera’ s horizontal rotation contact area. 1 Use t he joyst ick lever ( xy ) to select [REF R ESH] – “SET y ”, and press th e [ENTER] b utton. Cleaning star ts, and after the cleaning completes the star tup mov em ents are performed.
