DO NO T get off tractor . 6. Engine MUST remain running. If engine does stop, there is a problem with y our safety interloc k circuit.

Clean area around dipstick to pre v ent debris from falling into crankcase. 4. Remov e dipstick (A). Wipe with clean cloth. 5. Install dipstick: • S1642 - Install dipstick in tube , but DO NO T tigthen it.
Ser vice Engine - 29 SERVICE ENGINE cloth. 8. Lightly oil filter gasket with fresh, clean oil. 9. Install replacement oil filter . T ur n oil filter to the ri ght (clockwise) until rubber gask et contacts filter adapter . Tighten filter an additional one-half turn.

Ser vice Mower - 38 SERVICE MOWER 7. Measure distance from brake surf ace (A) to pulley braking surf ace (B). Brake to Pulle y Distance should be: 2 – 3 mm (0.08 – 0.12 in). 8. If adjustment is required, tur n nut (C) on end of brak e rod (D) in correct direction to set brake at proper distance from pulley .
Ser vice Mower - 39 SERVICE MOWER INST ALLING MOWER BLADES 1. Lightly lubricate cap screw threads with a general pur pose grease or oil. This lubrication is to prev ent rusting and seizing. 2. P osition mower b lade (D) with the cutting edge towards the ground onto the mo wer spindle.
