– 16 – EN 1L25 CONNECTING TO A DOLBY DIGIT AL DECODER OR DTS DECODER FOR D VD A UDIO ONL Y If using this D VD/VCR COMBIN A TION UNITS to play a D VD disc in 5.1 channel Dolby Digital surround, or DTS surround formats, the D VD/VCR COMBINA TION UNITS outputs a Dolby Digital, or DTS data stream from its CO AXIAL DIGIT AL A UDIO OUT jack.

– 18 – EN 1L25 CLOCK SET UP Set the clock accurately for proper automatic timer recording. W e suggest that you use a TV or radio sta- tion as your time source. 1 Press the MENU button twice to call up the main menu. (If y ou have already set the cloc k, y ou only have to press it once).
PICTURE SEARCH If you want to skip or repeat a scene during playback, press the F .FWD or the REW button. ¡ Press it again and the VCR will now search at super high speed. (in the LP/SLP modes only). INDEX SEARCH The index signal is recorded on the tape automatically when a recording is started.

– 21 – EN 1L25 HINTS FOR TIMER RECORDING ¡ If there is a power f ailure or the VCR is unplugged for more than 30 seconds, the clock setting and all timer settings will be lost. VCR ¡ If a tape ends during TIMER RECORDING, the VCR will stop, eject the tape, and switch to the D VD mode automatically as the TIMER SET light blinks.

– 23 – EN 1L25 PLA YING A D VD VIDEO OR AN A UDIO CD Getting started T urn on the power of the TV , amplif ier and any other components which are connected to the D VD. (Select the correct audio input on your audio system to match what you wish to view: Coaxial Digital Audio for DVD and analog for TV , VHS Hi-Fi stereo video tapes.
– 24 – EN 1L25 USING THE TITLE MENU W ith a D VD containing a title menu, you can select the desired titles from the menu. 1 Press the TITLE button. ¡ The title menu will appear . ¡ W ith some discs, a title menu may appear automati- cally . In this case, skip to step 2.
1 Press the g (FWD) or the h (REV) but- ton during playbac k. ¡ For D VDs, pressing the g (FWD) or h (REV) button c ycles the playback speed in four steps. In the case of D VDs, the sound will mute. ¡ For audio CDs, the playback speed is f ixed at × 16.

– 27 – EN 1L25 REPEA T 1 Press the REPEA T button during playbac k. F or D VDs ¡ A single title or chapter can be played back repeat- edly . ¡ Pressing the REPEA T b utton cycles the display on the screen as follows. F or audio CDs ¡ The whole disc or a single track can be played back repeatedly .

1 Insert an MP3 file recorded on disc. ¡ The MP3 menu screen is displayed. ¡ Folders are referred to as “ Albums ” and files are referred to as “ T racks ” .

– 32 – EN 1L25 CHANGING THE CAMERA ANGLE (Multi-Angle Pictures) The D VD has a function which allows you to select the desired camera angle. 1 Press the ANGLE button during pla yback. ¡ If the disc contains sequences recorded from differ- ent camera angles, the angle icon ( ) will appear at the top-right of the screen.
– 33 – EN 1L25 CHANGING THE ON-SCREEN DISPLA Y TT 1/2 0:00:00 -1:23:45 TT(Title): Current title number / the total number of titles. TIME: Elapsed time of the current title and remaining time of the current title. Y ou can check the information regarding the disc by pressing the DISPLA Y button on the remote control.
