2 Integr a ™ Digital Time-Lapse Recorder FR ONT P ANEL CONTR OLS AND INDICA T ORS F ront P anel Controls Menu — The unit must be stopped to access the menu. The main menu is displayed for on-screen pr ogramming on a moni- tor attached to the composite video or S-VIDEO outputs.
Installation and Operation Manual 3 Rever se/Forwar d Single-step — These buttons step video images in reverse or forwar d dir ection image-by-image.
4 Integr a ™ Digital Time-Lapse Recorder F ront P anel Indicators Nor mal Operations PWR LOSS — Indicates that the system and the alarm/event list have detected a power loss that has not been reviewed. The Unrevie wed Alarms indicator may be on or off.
Installation and Operation Manual 5 RA TE — Indicates the current pr ogrammed rate of image recor d/playback in images per second. REV/(P ause)/FWD — (Pause) is lit when the unit is paused or in single-step mode (forwar d or reverse). The REV symbol is lit when the unit is in r everse search mode.
6 Integr a ™ Digital Time-Lapse Recorder REAR P ANEL CONNECT ORS Remote P or t — Standar d DB9-P connector . The default set- tings are seven data bits, odd parity , and 1 stop/start bit, with all parameters selectable through the on-scr een pr ogramming menu.
Installation and Operation Manual 7 Multiplex er Synchr onization Output (Pin 5) — This five- volt logic digital rectangular waveform optimizes the im- age rate of an attached multiplexer when the recor ding mode changes. Default setting is active low and is select- able as active high or active low in on-scr een programming.
8 Integr a ™ Digital Time-Lapse Recorder Composite Video In — This standard BNC video input con- nector will support either the NTSC/EIA or the P AL/CCIR video standards (selectable at the fr ont panel seven-segment LED). The default setting is NTSC/EIA.
Installation and Operation Manual 9 PR OGRAMMING Main Menu The unit must be stopped to access the menus. Press Select while in on-screen pr ogramming mode to select or change the highlighted menu item. Pressing either Up or Down moves the highlight in the on-screen menu.
10 Integr a ™ Digital Time-Lapse Recorder Pressing either Up or Do wn moves the highlight in the on- screen menu. The user can increment the SET INDEX date and time by pressing the Select button.
Installation and Operation Manual 11 Record Options Menu The user may select the RECORD OPTIONS menu to pr ogram the unit ’ s behavior in r ecord mode. Pr essing either Up or Down moves the highlight in the on-screen menu. Pr ess Select to select or change the highlighted menu item.
12 Integr a ™ Digital Time-Lapse Recorder Schedule Options Menu The user may select the SCHEDULE OPTIONS menu to set the time each day that the unit will start and stop recor ding and the speed at which normal r ecording will take place. Pr ess- ing either Up or Do wn moves the highlight in the on-scr een menu.
Installation and Operation Manual 13 Signal/Rela y Options Men u The user may select the SIGNAL/RELA Y OPTIONS menu to select composite or S-VIDEO signal input, control alert or di- agnostic signals and relay signals used to cascade r ecor ding units or other devices.
14 Integr a ™ Digital Time-Lapse Recorder Set Date/Time/ID The user may select the SET D A TE/TIME/ID menu to set the format in which the date appears, set the date and time at the bottom of the display screen and on the fr ont panel or set a three digit identification number for the unit.
Installation and Operation Manual 15 Maintenance Options Menu If the user selects ERASE MEDIA, a confirmation menu stat- ing, “ ARE Y OU SURE Y OU W ANT T O ERASE THE MEDIA? ALL D A T A WILL BE LOST! ” displays. The user must select YES to erase the media.
16 Integr a ™ Digital Time-Lapse Recorder APPENDIX A REMO TE CONNECT OR PIN ASSIGNMENTS The remote connecter is a standar d DB9-P connector . It accepts a DB9-S mating connector (not provided). A “ null modem ” cable connection is requir ed for r emote operations.
Installation and Operation Manual 17 APPENDIX B REMO TE CONTROL ASCII COMMANDS Remote commands consist of three ASCII characters. Many front panel buttons have multiple functions depending on the status of the unit ’ s operation.
