• Cleaning—Unplug the AC cord fr om the AC outlet before cleaning the product. Use a damp cloth to clean the pr oduct. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. • Use a soft damp cloth to gently wipe the panel when it is dirty . T o protect the panel, do not use a chemical cloth to clean it.

Inserting the stand Insert the stand into the openings on the bottom of the TV (Hold the stand so it will not drop from the edge of the base area). Insert and tighten the four screws into the four holes on the r ear of the TV . NOTE • T o detach the stand unit, perform the above steps in reverse or der .
Preparation Inserting the batteries Before using the TV for the first time, insert two supplied “AA” size zinc-carbon batteries. When the batteries become depleted and the remote contr ol unit fails to operate, replace the batteries with new “AA” size batteries.
Quick guide 1 2 3 Initial installation overview Follow the steps below one by one when using the TV for the first time. Some steps may not be necessary depending on your TV installation and connection. Connect an antenna cable to the antenna terminal (Page 8).
Quick guide Befor e tur ning on the power In order to r eceive coded digital stations, a Common Interface Module (CI Module) and a CA Card must be inserted in the CI slot of the TV . The CI Module and the CA Card ar e not supplied accessories. They are usually available fr om your dealers.
Initial auto installation When the TV is powered on for the first time after pur chase, the initial auto installation wizard appears. Follow the menus and make the necessary settings one after another . 1 Press a on the TV . • The initial auto installation wizard appears.
W atching TV Selecting language audio E DTV/CADTV mode: Pressing 2 appear a menu with languages or audio sources availables depending on the r eceived broadcast. Press a / b to select the language and pr ess OK . NOTE • The audio mode screen disappears in thr ee seconds.

Connecting exter nal devices E Before connecting ... • Be sure to turn off the TV and any devices before making any connections. • Firmly connect a cable to a terminal or terminals. • Carefully read the operation manual of each external device for possible connection types.
Connecting external devices HDMI connection The HDMI connections permit digital video and audio transmission via a connection cable from a player/ recor der . The digital picture and sound data are transmitted without data compression and ther efore lose none of their quality .
Connecting external devices NOTE • In cases when the decoder needs to receive a signal fr om the TV , make sure to select the appr opriate input terminal to which the decoder is connected in “Input Source” (Page 10).

Basic adjustment Audio settings When the Sound Mode is set to “User” , the sound can be adjusted according to your pr eferences. See the following setting table.

Useful viewing functions USB REC and TimeShift functions TimeShift TimeShift function allows you to recor d the current digital TV programme and watch it later , always before turning off the TV set. USB REC (Video Recor der) USB REC function allows you to recor d a TV programme and watch it later .
USB REC operation • Thimehift has not been created as a real r ecording method, so the recor ded data will be deleted each time you cancel it, change programme or input sour ce, or switch off the TV . The r ecorded data will never be available for any external device.
