3 WARNING! Use Good Judgment AL W A YS wear eye protection to shield against thrown objects. NEVER run the engine when transport- ing the unit. NEVER run the engine indoors! Make sure there is always good ventilation. Fumes from engine exhaust can cause serious injury or death.

6 2. Use the 4 mm hex wrench to loosen the tube clamp screw . See Figure 5. 3. Slide the outer tube into the tube clamp until the tube bottoms. If installation is dif ficult, rotate the outer tube or main- shaft slightly until you feel the mainshaft engage with the powerhead.
7 26109 26110 Assembly Throttle Cable Free Play Adjustment 1. Move the throttle lever to check for smooth operation. Any stif fness or bind- ing must be cor r ected before using the product. 2. Actuate the throttle lever to check for free play of approximately 4-6 mm (1/4”) in the idle position.

11 26130 The edger’s depth of cut is controlled by a combination of operator height, blade wear , and the positioning of the edger’s guide wheel. T o Adjust Blade Height: 1. Loosen the guide wheel adjusting knob. See Figure 21. 2. Raise or lower the guide wheel to the desired setting.
12 Daily Maintenance Remove all dir t and debris from the engine, check the cooling fins and air cleaner for clogging, and clean as neces- sar y . Prior to each work day , per for m the following: Carefully remove any accumulations of dir t or debris from the muf fler and fuel tank.
13 26138 26135 50-Hour Maintenance Ever y 50 hours of operation (more frequently in sever e conditions): Remove and clean the cylinder cover and clean grass and dir t from the cylin- der fins. Remove the cutting attachment, cutting attachment holder and the gear shaft collar .
14 CA T AL YST MUFFLER 26139 135-Hour Maintenance 1. Remove the muf fler cover from the engine. 2. Remove the two 5 mm muf fler scr ews. Remove the lower muf fler screw , then lift the muf fler assembly from the en- gine. See Figure 29. 3. Remove the rear muf fler shield bolt.
15 NO T r oubleshooting Guide Does the engine crank? Good compression? Does the tank contain fresh fuel of the proper grade? Is fuel visible and moving in the retur n line when priming? Is there spark at the spark plug wire ter minal? Check the spark plug.
