18 The SIRIUS Home Sat ellite Radio T uner must be c onnected t o a SIRIUS Outdoor Antenna ( sold separ ately ) to r eceive the SIRIUS signal. The T uner r ecognizes and decodes the inc oming SIRIUS progr am inf ormation, and pro vides an audio signal to your s ter eo receiving equipment or other audio output equipment .

20 Inst allation and Setup Installing the An tenna Y ou will need to pur chase a SIRIUS Outdoor Ant enna for your T uner . Carefully follo w the installation ins tructions included with the outdoor an tenna f or best re sults.
21 7 Rout e the cable from the ant enna location t o the interior of the home, w orking the cable through the basemen t, under a window sill, etc., and mak e adjustments and tak e up slack whenever neces sary . 8 Plug the antenna c able into the ANTENNA connect or on the back of the T uner .
22 2 Pre ss the PO WER butt on to turn the T uner on. A fter displaying the SIRIUS logo, the T uner will updat e all the SIRIUS channels. The displa y will re ad “UPDA TING CHANNELS” on the t op line and “X% Complet ed” (0%- 20%40%-60%-80%-100%) on the bot tom line until the update complet es.
23 Infr ared (IR) Connection In formation The IR input on the r ear of the T uner is a 12 v olt mono 1/ 8” mini plug. The tip is signal and the sleev e is ground. The f ollowing t able lists the IR c odes that ar e acc epted b y the SR-H2000 T uner .

30 Oper ation Display S creen Inf ormation The display s creen o f the T uner pro vides information about the oper ation of the T uner , such as the curr ently tuned channel, song or sho w being played, artist name, time and other in formation. This scr een is referr ed to as the Def ault display scr een in this manual.
31 DISPLA Y Butt on Pre ssing and r eleasing the DISPLA Y butt on from the Def ault display scr een toggles be tw een the artist name/ song title and lar ge char acter displa yed t ext. The lar ge character f ormat will change the character siz e and cause the field to scr oll from right t o left.
32 Sear ch Modes ( Cat egor y , Channel, Artist, Song T itle) The T uner has four w ays t o search f or and select music: b y cat egory , by channel, by artist, and b y song title.

36 Channel Pre set s Channel pre sets allo w you to st ore up to 30 o f your f av orite channels as pr esets for quick ac ces s with the press of a but ton. Setting Channel Presets Pre sets ar e stor ed in three bank s, A, B, and C, each cont aining 10 channel pre sets .
37 Recalling Channel Presets The 10 pr ese ts in the active bank ( A, B, or C) can be select ed by pr essing the 1-10 but tons. 1 Pre ss the B AND butt on to activ ate the pres et bank y ou want. T he selected b ank is shown in the lo wer right c orner of the default display scr een.
38 Jump The T uner has a special fe atur e called JUMP . This butt on can be pr ogrammed to jump to a channel which is ac ces sed fr equently and tempor arily such as traf fic, weather , news , or sports. This but ton allo ws you to quickly t une to a specific channel and then tune back t o the original channel by pr essing the button again.
39 pre ssing the JUMP butt on. If the JUMP butt on is set t o JumpSet, pr essing the JUMP butt on will immediately tune t o the progr ammed channel. Pre ssing the JUMP butt on again will re turn to the channel t o which you had been listening immediat ely prior to pr essing the JUMP button.
40 Channel Pre set s (P . TUNE Mode) Searching For A Channel Preset It is possible t o quickly sear ch through all of y our pre sets using the CHANNEL ( ) butt ons: 1 Pre ss and hold the B AND butt on to ent er the preset t une mode (P . TUNE). 2 The bot tom right portion of the displa y will change to highlight the curren t pre set number .
41 Preset Tune List Mode While in the pr eset t une mode, y ou can view y our list of pres ets sho wing channel name, artist name , or song title, just lik e in the channel list mode: 1 Pre ss and hold the B AND butt on to ent er the preset t une mode (P .

43 Memory (MEMO ) & Song Seek ( S- Seek) F unctions This f eatur e allows you t o captur e and stor e information about the progr amming ( artist, song, sports t eam, or tr affic city ) on the currently tuned channel, up to a t otal o f 30 it ems.
44 If either the artist name or song title is not av ailable to sav e, the choice will be display ed as unav ailable. Pre ss CHANNEL ( ) butt ons to highlight St ore Artist or S tor e Song (when av ailable) and pr ess the ENTER but ton t o save the curr ent selection t o memory .
45 F or Sports Games: If the current t uned channel is an NFL, NBA, NHL, or College pla y-by -play sports br oadcast, momentarily pr ess and releas e the MEMO butt on. The T uner will display a menu to choos e which sports team should be sav ed to memory .
46 Initial Game Alert will pro vide an alert when the team y ou hav e chosen is pla ying a game. All S cor e Updates will pro vide an aler t when the te am you ha ve cho sen is playing a game , and also when the sc ores are updat ed for the team.
47 If both te ams are a vailable t o save , you will be prompt ed again to save the other te am. If you wish t o save the te am, follo w the same pr ocedur e as when saving the fir st team. If y ou do not wish to sa ve, pr ess the MEMO button t o exit .
48 If the MEMO butt on is pre ssed, and all o f the memory space s are full, a Memory F ull screen will be display ed for one second. A Replac e–Cancel scr een will then be display ed which will allow you t o choose whether to r eplace an exis ting alert stor ed in memory , or to cancel s toring the alert to memory .
49 Pre ss CHANNEL ( ) to s elect whether t o replac e an e xisting alert or canc el saving the alert to memory . If you choo se to canc el saving the alert, the tuner will re vert to the last active displa y mode. If y ou have chosen t o replace an exis ting alert, a listing of all the alerts stor ed in memory will be displayed.
50 function allow s you t o revie w pre viously stor ed progr am information. The inf ormation will be displayed as sports league or c ollege/t eam name or artist name/ song title. Deleting A Song or Artist St ored In Memory Y ou can dele te a song or artist that y ou have sa ved in memory .

52 Activ ating The Song ( S- Seek) Alert When S- Seek alerts are enabled, whene ver the T uner is turned on, it aut omatically sear ches the channels to determine if a mat ch exists with the pr ogram inf ormation stor ed in tuner’s memory .
53 When the S- Seek option is on, when ev er the tuner is turned on, it automatic ally sear ches the incoming channels to det ermine if a match exis ts with the progr am information s tor ed in the S-Seek memory . If one or more S- Seek mat ches ar e found, a lis t appears (Figur e 2 4).
54 Game Alert The T uner tuner can aut omatically identify when y our f av orite t eam is playing. When a game is f ound, Game Alert is displayed and the My Game Z one screen is display ed listing the sports games which ar e currently being play ed. (Figure 25) Use the CHANNEL ( ) butt ons to select and tune t o the desir ed game.
55 Inst ant R eplay The T uner is capable o f storing the audio of the channel t o which you ar e listening f or later playback, appr oximately up t o 44 minutes depending upon the channel to which y ou are tuned.
56 Pre ss the CHANNEL ( ) button t o highlight a song to play , then pres s the ENTER butt on to select . Live ma y be chosen which will e xit the Instant R eplay mode , and the T uner will resume pla ying the live broadc ast. F ast F orwar d ( ) But ton This f ast forw ards you thr ough the stor ed audio.
57 immediately when the but ton is r eleased. When the end of the s tor ed audio is reached, a beep will be hear d, the Instant R eplay mode will be exit ed, and the tuner will resume playing the liv e broadc ast. Re wind ( ) But ton This r ewinds ( moves y ou backw ards ) through the stor ed audio.
58 Note: W hen the tuner is tuned t o another channel, all audio st ored in the Ins tant Repla y memory is er ased and the tuned channel begins t o play . T uning to another channel may aut omatically oc cur if another fe atur e of the T uner has been progr ammed to do so .
59 P ause ( ) Mode: This indicates that the T uner is paus ed and muted. Play ( ) Mode: This indic ates that you ar e in the playback mode, lis tening t o stor ed audio. F ast F orward ( ) Mode: This indicat es that you ar e f ast f orw arding thr ough the stor ed audio.
60 A diamond-shaped Play P osition indicat or is superimposed over the Pr ogress B ar which pro vides a visual indicator o f the curren t playback position in the Ins tant Repla y memory . The Play P osition indicator sho ws your curr ent listening position in the st ored audio.
61 memory . While y ou are in the pla yback mode , the tuner con tinues to s tor e the audio from the channel. Ob viously , you will be unable to “ catch up ” to the live broadc ast during playback, as new audio is being s tor ed at the same rat e at which you ar e playing back the stor ed audio.
62 F or ex ample, if -0 2:40 is displayed, this would indic ate that the Play Po sition indicat or is 2 minute s and 40 seconds behind the liv e broadcast .
63 Scanning Channels Pre ssing the SC AN / SCAN buttons set s the T uner to play e ach Channel/Pre set in asc ending or desc ending order f or 10 seconds.

66 Menu Options Menu Options allow s you t o set and/ or change the various fe atur es and set tings of the T uner . T o ent er the menu options, pres s the MENU butt on.
67 SIRIUS ID This menu option displa ys y our 12 digit SIRIUS ID (SID) number . The SID is unique to each T uner , and is required t o activate y our service. It is rec ommended that you write this number in the spac e pro vided near the end of this user guide .
68 Game Alert Game Alert allows y ou to stor e your f avorite sports t eams in memory . The T uner will const antly scan the channels and will sound an alert when a sports team y ou stor ed in memory is playing a game, or when ther e is a score updat e for a team, depending upon which option you ha ve chosen f or the sports team.
69 Note that f or college teams, y ou will receiv e an aler t f or all teams playing f or that college . There ar e 30 college t eams currently licensed f or broadcas t by SIRIUS .
70 Set tings The Se ttings menu allow s you acc ess the Jump Se ttings, Displa y Options, Memory Options, A udio Le vel, C onfirmation T one, OSD , Add/ Skip, and P arental C ontrol menu options, which ar e described in the following s ections.
71 Note: If the channel lis t has not ye t been downloaded fr om the SIRIUS data str eam, an Updating City Lis t notification s creen will be displa yed.
72 Display Options The brightnes s and contr ast of the T uner’ s display screen ma y be adjust ed. T o Adjust T hese S ettings: 1 Select the Display Options menu op tion. 2 Select one of the f ollowing two op tions: • Brightness: Y ou can set the brightness f or the LCD backlight and ke ypad.
73 Memory Options Memory Options pro vides for turning the memory se arch function ( S-Seek ) On or Off . In addition, all 30 pr eset s can be clear ed.
74 Audio L evel The audio output le vel o f the T uner can be adjust ed to fine t une the audio lev el for best perf ormance. The audio le vel setting af fects the analog line output. To Change The Audio Level: 1 Select the Audio L ev el menu option. 2 A horizont al bar gr aph is displayed with a — sign t o the left and a + sign to the right .
75 Con firmation T one The T uner can s ound an audio tone alert when the tuner po wer s On and Off , as well as when an S -S eek Alert is activat ed. The def ault setting is On. To Change The Confirmation Tone Options: 1 Select the Con firmation T one menu option.
76 OSD ( On Screen Displa y ) Y ou can t urn the on scr een display On or Off , and also set a scr een sav er On or Off . To Turn the OSD or Screen Saver On or Off: 1 Select the OSD menu option. 2 Select OSD On/ Off or Scr een Sav er On/Of f . 3 Select On to enable or Of f to disable the on scr een display or scr een sav er .
77 Add or Skip Channels can be r emoved from the channel lis t. Once a channel is set t o be skipped, it will not appear in an y channel list but the channel can s till be tuned by using Dir ect T une. Y ou can als o add back a channel y ou had pre viously designated to be skipped.
78 P arental C ontrol The T uner has the ability t o lock a channel (or channels ) you do not w ant others to acc ess without y our permission. Like the Skip channel fe atur e, the lock ed channel will not appear when br ow sing channels with the CHANNEL butt ons.
79 2 Select the channel y ou wish to lock or unlock fr om the channel list. Pre ssing the ENTER butt on will either add the text L ock next t o the channel name to indic ate that the channel will be lock ed, or unlock a locked channel b y removing the t ext L ock.
80 3 Enter the def ault lock code (0000) or the curr ent lock code if y ou have changed it from the def ault code . 4 The Ent er Code pr ompt will be displayed. Ent er your new f our digit code using the 0–10 number but tons. Y ou will then be pr ompted t o enter the ne w code again to con firm.
81 Time-Bas ed F eature s The Time-B ased F eatur es menu allow s you acc ess the Clock, Alarm, Pr ogram Alert, Aut o Shutdo wn, and Sleep Mode menu options, which are des cribed in the follo wing sections.
82 Dayligh t Sa vings Time Y ou can activ ate this function if your ar ea observe s Daylight Sa vings Time. Select DS T Observ ed ( default) or D ST No t Observ ed. Alarm The Alarm menu option allo ws y ou to set the T uner to turn on at a specif ic time.
83 Progr am Aler t The Pr ogr am Alert menu option allow s you t o progr am the T uner to s witch t o a selected channel at a specif ic time. When this menu option is select ed, the following menu options ar e displayed: • Progr am Time /Day: This menu option allo ws y ou to choose the Time and Day f or the progr am alert featur e.
84 Aut o Shutdown The Aut o Shutdown menu option allo ws you t o progr am the tuner to aut omatically shut off aft er a one hour period without any user int ervention. A fter 59 minut es of inactivit y , a beep tone will s ound and a Cancel A uto Shutdo wn display pr ompt appears on the s creen t o allow you t o delay the aut omatic shutdo wn.
85 Signal Indicat or It is important to aim the an tenna f or maximum signal reception. T he Signal Indicat or display scr een visually shows the str ength of the signals being rec eived. To View The Signal Indicator: 1 Select the Signal Indicat or menu option.
86 F actory Default The F actory De f ault option will re store all original f actory set tings in your T uner . Note that f actory def ault will not rese t the lock code if y ou have changed it from the def ault lock code . To Perform A Factory Default Reset: 1 Select the F actory Def ault menu option.
