An induction coil located under t he glass ceramic cooking sur face crea tes an alternating electromagne tic field which enters the glass cer amic and induces a thermal current in the base of the sa ucepan.
Instructions f or the User 36 6.3 Limitation on the duration of use The hob has an automatic de vice which limits the duration of use . The duration of operation of each coo king zone depends on the po wer le vel selected (see ta ble). The assumption is that no chang es are made to the settings of t he cooking zone while it is in oper ation.

Instructions f or the User 38 6.9 Residual heat indicator The hob is equipped with a re sidual heat indicator in the f or m of the symbol. When is display ed after the heat has been s witched off, it indicates that the re sidual heat can be used to keep food hot or melt cer tain f oods.
Instructions f or the User 39 7. USING THE SENSORS The glass cer amic hob is controlled b y means of the T ouch Control sensor b uttons . Operating t he sensor buttons: lightly touch a symbol on the glass cer amic surface . Every effectiv e touch will be confir med by an acoustic signal.
Instructions f or the User 40 8. USING THE HOB 8.1 W arnings and general advice T o operate a h ob equipped with touc h controls, ligh tly press the symbols p rinted on the surf ace of the hob . Every pressure on a symbol is con firmed by a co ntrol beep .

The second b utton need s to be pressed within 10 secon ds , as otherwise the desired selection will be deactiv ated.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Before performing any operations , switch off the power supply to th e appliance. 9.1 Cleaning the glass ceramic hob The glass ceramic hob should be regularly cleaned, preferably after every use, o nce the residual heat warning lights have gone off.

INST ALLA TION 11.1 Safety instructions for installing kitchen furniture • V eneers, adh esives or plastic co atings on adjacent furniture should be temper ature-resistant (>75°C). If they are not sufficiently temperature-re sistant, they may w ar p over time.
