Precautions for Safety and Use 20 1. Precautions f or safety and use THIS MANUAL IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE APPLIANCE. TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT AND KEEP IT TO HAND THROUGHOUT THE HOB'S LIFE CY CLE. USERS ARE ADVISED TO READ THIS MANUAL AND ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS IT C ONTAINS BEFORE USING THE H OB.
Instructions for the Installer 21 2. Fitting the appliance in the top The procedures required below must be carried o ut by a skilled builder and/or joiner. The hob can be installed on vari ous materials, including masonry, metal, solid wood and wood finished wit h plastic laminates, provided the material is h eat-resistant (T 90° C).
Instructions for the Installer 22 2.2 Fitting the gasket Fit the insulating gasket provid ed carefully around the outside edge of the hole made in the top as shown below, pressing it down with your hands so that its entire surface fits snugly. Follow the dimensions show n, bea ring in mind that the long front edge must be flush with the hole.
Instructions for the Installer 23 3. Electrical connection Check that the power su pply line voltage and size are as speci fied on the nameplate underneath the applian ce's casing.
Instructions for the Installer 24 4. Gas connection If the appliance is installed above an oven, the gas hose must be passed a round the back of the oven to prevent overheating. The connection to the gas main s may be made using a copper pipe or a continuous-wal l steel hose in accordan ce with the releva nt regulations.
Instructions for the Installer 25 5. Adapting to diff erent types of gas The operations described below must be carried out with the appliance no t connected to the gas supply. The appliance is tested with G20 (2H) natural gas at the pressure of 20 mbar.
Instructions for the Installer 26 5.2 Adjusting fo r bottled gas Undo the scr ew C and push the air regulato r D fully down. Remove the nozzle E with a 7 mm spanner and fit the suitable one, following the instructions in the tables referring to the type of gas to be used.
Instructions for the Installer 27 5.3 Adjusting fo r natural gas The appliance is tested with G20 (2H) natural gas at the pressure of 20 mbar. To r e t u r n t h e appliance to the condition requi red to use this type of gas, proceed as described in point “ 5.
Instructions for the Installer 28 5.5 Reassembling the hob skin Reverse the procedure de scribed in point “ 5.1 Rem oving the hob skin ”. Fit the pan stands as described in point “ 7.1 Fitting the Pan Stands ”. 5.6 Adjusting the minim um for natural gas Reassemble the compone nts on the burner and fit the knobs onto the tap rods.

CONTROL AREA 4 Burner Hob KNOB OPERATING MODE To light the flame, press the knob and at the same time turn it anti-clockwise to the minimum flame symbol .
Instructions for the User 30 7. Using the hob Check that the burners, flame diffuser rings and pan stands are fitted correctly. The projections A on the flame diffuser rings must be fitted into the recesses B in the burner. The holes C in the burner must mate with the ignition plugs and thermocouples D on the hob.
Instructions for the User 31 Make sure that the pan stands are simply fitte d over their burners, and are not left in a raised or tilted position; if th is occurs, repeat the fitting procedure.

The appliance is equippe d with electronic i gnition. Simply press the knob and turn it anti-clockwise to the minimum flame symbol , until the burner lights.

Never use a jet of steam for cleaning the applian ce. 8.1 Cleaning the hob To keep the hob in good condition, it must be cleaned regul arly, after each use, first allowing it to cool.
