Operation GB 21 Operation The hob The hob is equipped with an indu ction cooking mode. An induction coil underneath the glass ceramic hob generat es an electromagnet ic alternating fiel d which penetrates the gl ass ceramic and induces the heat- generating current in the pot base.
22 Operation GB Cookware for induction hobs The cookware used for the induction cooking zone must be made of metal, have magnetic properties and a suf ficient base ar ea.
Operation GB 23 Operating the buttons The controls descr ibed here expect th e pressing of a (selection) but ton to be followed by the pressing of a subsequent but ton. The pressing of a subsequent but ton must always commence within 10 seconds , otherwise the select ion will be deleted.
24 Operation GB ST OP function The cooking process can be briefly inte rrupted with th e STOP function, e. g. if the doorbell rings. The STOP function must be released in order to continue cooking at the same p ower level. If a ti mer has been set it wil l pause and will then continue .
Operation GB 25 Automatic switch-off (timer) The automatic switch-off device i s used to automat ically switch off any cooking zone af ter a stipulate d period of time. Cooking t imes ranging from 1 minute to 99 minutes can be set. 1. Switch on the hob .
26 Operation GB Automatic boost function Parboiling take s place at power level 9 with th e automatic boost f unction. After a certa in time the power level will switch d own automatically to a lower simmering setting (1 t o 8).
Operation GB 27 Power boost setting (cooking zones marked with a P) The power boost sett ing makes additi onal power available for induction cooking zones. A large quantity of wat er can be brought t o the boil very quickly. The power boost sett ing operates for 10 minutes, after which the power level is automatically reduced to cooking l evel 9.
