16 Operations GB Operations The hob The hob is equipped with an induction cooking mode. An induction coil underneath the glass ceramic hob gen erates an electromagnet ic alternating fiel d which penetrates the gl ass ceramic and induces the heat -generating curr ent in the pot base.

The setting can b e reduced by pressi ng the Minus key . The power setting disp lay shows the power setting which has been selected.
18 Operations GB Lock /child safety device The lock can be used to block oper ation and settings ( e.g. power setting 4). An activated lock will remain activated even if the hob i s switched off! The lock hence also serves as a child safe ty device in order to prevent the hob from being operated unin tentionally or int entionally.
