33 Instructions f or the user 4. GET T O KNO W Y OUR APPLIANCE The hob is equipped with an induction gener ator f or each cooking z one. Each gener ator located unde r the glass ceramic cooking surf ace creates an electr oma gnetic field which induces a thermal current in the base of the saucepan.
34 Instructions f or the user 4.2 Saucepan recognition If there is no saucepan on a cooking zone or if th e saucepan is too small, no energy will be transmitted. If there is a suitab le saucepan on the cookin g zone, t he recognition system notice s it and tur ns on the hob to the pr eset power le v el.
35 Instructions f or the user 4.5 Pr otection from hob o verheating If the hob is used on full pow er for a long period, the electroni cs will ha ve troub le cooling down if the room tem perature is high . T o av oid excessiv ely high tempe ratures f or ming in the electronics , the pow er to the cooking zone is reduced automatica lly .

USING THE HOB 5.1 General warnings and advice On first connection to the electric al mains, an oper ating check will be carried out automatically and all the indicator lights will come on f or a f ew seconds. After use , switch off the hot plates using th e contro ls described in point “5.
37 Instructions f or the user 5.4 Switc hing off the cooking zone T o switch off the cooking zone hold down the On/Off ke y for at least 2 seconds. The displa y will no longer show the po wer le vel. T o switch off all th e cooking zones at the same time hold do wn the On/Off ke y of an active cooking zone f or at least 5 seco nds.

46 Instructions f or the installer 8.3 Mounting 8.3.1 Over empty kitchen unit or dra wers If there ar e other pieces of furniture (later al walls , dra wers , etc.) under the hob , a doub le-la yer wooden base must be installed at le ast 30 mm fro m the bottom of the hob to av oid any acciden tal contact.
