Duende User Guide Page 13 of 29 Most host applications automatically compensate for t his latency by simply turnin g on th e Plug-in Delay Compensat ion (PDC) or similar, us ually found in t he applications pref erences.
Duende User Guide Page 14 of 29 Compensating for latency in P ro Tools LE and M-Powered Because Pro Tools LE a nd M-Powered do not feature PD C it must be do ne manually w hen Duende plug-ins are used.
Duende User Guide Page 15 of 29 Any tracks that have a smaller latency than the maximum must also be delayed but by a s maller amount (i.e. tracks with 1 Duende p lug-in where the maximum has 3). The delay value for these will be maximum laten cy minus the latency reported by that track.
Duende User Guide Page 16 of 29 This means that you can gene rally use up to 2 Duende plug-ins per ch annel without considering latency iss ues, but this will depe nd on the buffer size set in Pro To ols, the sample rate and which Duende plug-ins a re loaded.

Duende User Guide Page 21 of 29 When the EQ is s witched to ‘E’ operation , the bandwidth of the HMF and L MF sections remains constant at all gains, so at lower gains the EQ cur ves are comparatively narrower for a given Q setting. This is p articularly useful for drums, since rela tively high Q is ava ilable at low g ain settings.
Duende User Guide Page 22 of 29 6.5 Dynamics Section The Dyn amics Section comprises a compressor/limiter and an expander/gate. Both sections wor k independently, but can be operat ional at the same time, providing sop histicated control of sign al levels.
Duende User Guide Page 23 of 29 Compressor/Limiter Introduction The Channel Com pressor/Limiter Section has a numbe r of key features in cluding a variable compression ratio from 1:1 to Infinity:1, a variable thres hold from -20dB to +10dB, auto sensing attack time (or selecta ble 1ms attack time), a nd a variable release from 0 .

This avoids the tim e shift which occurs when a ‘hard’ bypass is done using the de fault DAW con trol, allowing for easier A/B com parison betw een processed a nd unprocessed signals.
