7 Notes on di scs • T o keep th e disc cl ean, do not touch th e surfa ce. Hand le the disc by its edg e. • Keep you r di s c s in t he ir case s or disc magaz in es when not in use. Do not subje ct the di scs to heat/high temp erature. A void leaving them in pa rked cars or on dash boar d s/rea r trays .
8 About MP3 files MP3 (M PEG 1 Audio Laye r-3) is a standard technol o gy and fo rm a t for com pressi ng a sound sequenc e. The file is co mpresse d to abo ut 1/10 of its or iginal siz e. Sounds outside the r ange of human h earing are compre ssed w hi le the so un ds we can he ar are not co m pr essed.
9 The pla ybac k order of t he MP3 files The play back ord er of the folde rs and files is as fol lows: Notes • A folder that does no t include an MP 3 file is skipped.
10 Detaching t he front pan el Y ou can detach the front panel of th is unit to protec t the unit from being stol en . Caution alar m If you turn the ignition switch to the OFF positio n without remo ving the fr ont panel, the cautio n al arm wi ll be ep for a few seco nds.

15 Tips • Simpl y ov erwr ite or en ter “ ” to cor rect or era se a name. • There is another way to star t labelling a CD: Press (LIST ) for 2 seconds i nstead of per forming step s 2 and 3. Y ou can also complete t he operation by pressing (LIS T) f o r 2 second s instead of step 5.

19 Stayi ng with one regional pr ogramme When the AF fu nction is o n: this unit ’ s factory- set se ttin g re stricts reception to a specif ic re gion, so you w o n’ t be switch ed to an othe r re gional stat ion wi th a strong er freque nc y .
20 Presetti ng RDS statio ns with AF and T A setting When you preset RD S station s, the un it st or es each st ation’ s AF/T A setting (on/ off) as well as its freq uenc y . Y ou c an sel ect a diffe rent sett ing (for A F , T A, or bo th) for ind ividu al pre set statio ns, or the same settin g for all preset sta t i o ns.

22 Other Fu nctions Y ou can al so co ntro l the uni t (an d opt ional CD/ MD units) with a rotary commander (optional) . Using th e rotar y comm ander First, a ttach the a ppropriate la bel depending on ho w you want to mount the ro tary commander . The rot ary c ommand er works by pres sing bu tt ons and/or rotatin g controls.
