Getting Started 7 GB Perfor m the follow ing proc edures 1 to 7 to hook up your sy stem usi ng the sup plied cor ds and access ories. 1 Connect the speakers.

After yo u press POWE R on the uni t and turn on the p ower, you can tu rn the system on and off by pressin g ?/1 on the r emote . Notes • Power re mains suppli ed to the s ystem until yo u press POWE R on the uni t again to se t it to off.
10 GB You c an chan ge the on-screen display language . 1 Turn on your TV and select the video input. 2 Press ?/1 to turn o n the system. 3 Press DV D (or FUNC TION + or – repeatedly) to s witch the fu nction to DVD. Playback sta rts automaticall y if a disc with auto pl ayback fun ction is l oaded.
Disc – Basic Pla y 11 GB 1 Press Z OPEN o n the unit. 2 Place a disc with the label sid e up in the disc compartment so that the hole in the center of the disc fits sn ugly over the holder. 3 Close the disc compartment. Note Do not use a disc with tape , seals or paste on it as thi s may cause m alfunction.

Disc – Basic Pla y 13 GB A DVD is divid ed into a l ot of sectio ns, which make up a pictu re or musi c feature. These sectio ns are call ed “titles .” When you play a DVD which conta ins severa l titles , you can select t he title you wa nt using TOP MENU.
14 GB To cancel playback with PBC functions 1 Press x t wice to cancel Resum e Play (page 12). 2 Press SETU P. The Setup Menu ap pears. 3 Press < or , repeatedly to select “Preference Page,” then press ENTE R. 4 Press M or m repeatedly to select “PB C,” then press ENTER.

To select a JPEG file in the Thumbnail Display 1 Press x while viewing a JPEG file. The JPEG fil es in the same folde r as the sel ected JPEG file appea r as thumbnail ima ges.

20 GB Changin g the s ound When playing a DVD or DATA CD/DATA DVD (DivX file s) recorde d in multip le audio forma ts (PC M, Dolb y Digi tal, MPEG au dio or DTS), you can ch ange the audio fo rmat. If the DVD is recorded with multilingu al tracks, you can als o change the languag e.
Disc – V ario us functio ns 21 GB Displayin g the sub titles (DVD only) With DVDs on which multilingual su btitles are record ed, you ca n change th e subtitle language while playin g a DVD, or turn th e subtitles o n or off whe never yo u want. Press SUBTITLE repeatedly during play.
