5 Getting started Getting started Assembly Before you st art using your phone, you need to insert a SIM card and the battery. To insert the SIM card 1 Remove the ba ttery co ver. 2 Slide the SIM card into its holder with the golden contac ts facing down.

25 Calling Call waiting When call waiting is us ed, you hear a beep if you recei ve a second call. To activate call waiting • From standby select Menu > Settings > the Calls tab > Manage calls > Call waiting > Activate . To make a second call 1 During the call , select Option s > Hold .
26 Calling To release a participant 1 Select Options > Release part. 2 Select the participa nt to release. To have a private conversation 1 During the call, select Opti ons > Talk to and select the participant to talk to. 2 To resume the conf erence ca ll, select Options > Jo in calls .

28 Messaging Messaging Receiving and saving messages You are notifi ed when you receive a message. Message s are automatically saved in the phone memor y. When the phone memory is full , you can delete messages or save them on a memo ry card or on the SIM car d.

63 More features If you enter your PI N incorrectly three times in a row, the SIM card is blocked and you need to enter your PUK (Pe rs on al Unblocking Key) . 64 Troubleshooting Keypad lock You can set this lock to avoid accidental dialling. Incoming calls can be answered without unlocking the keypad. To use the automatic keylock 1 From standby select Menu > Settings > the General tab > Security > Automatic keylock .
65 Troubles hooting I cannot charge the phone or battery capacity is low The charge r is not properly connected or the battery conn ection is poor. Remove the battery and clean the connectors. The battery is worn out and needs to be replaced . See Charging the battery on page 7.
66 Troubleshooting The phone cannot be detected by other devices using Bluetooth wireless technology You have not turned the Bluetooth function on.
