13 MZ-N1 Operation in Setting the T est Mode • When the test mode becomes active, f irst the display check mode is selected. • Other mode can be selected from the display check mode. • When the test mode is set, the LCD repeats the following dis- play .
14 MZ-N1 Configuration of T est Mode Manual Mode Mode to adjust or check the operation of the set by function. Normally , the adjustment in this mode is not executed. Ho wev er, the Manual mode is used to clear the memor y , power supply adjustment, and laser po wer check before performing automatic adjustments in the Ov erall Adjustment mode.
15 MZ-N1 Self-Diagnosis Result Displa y Mode This set uses the self-diagnostic function system in which if an error occurred during the recording or playing, the mechanism control block and the po wer supply contr ol block in the microcomputer detect it and record its cause as history in the non volatile memory .

23 MZ-N1 • Adjustment method of Vrec PWM Duty (L) (item number: 766) 1. Connect a digital v oltmeter to the AP611 (VREC) on the MAIN board, and adjust [VOLUME +] ke y (voltage up) or [VOLUME --] ke y (voltage down) so that the v oltage becomes 1.08 V .
24 MZ-N1 10. Press the N key , and set the laser MO write adjustment mode (item number 013). 11. Check that the laser power meter reading is 4.95 ± 0.50 mW . 12. Check that the voltage both ends (TP (+) and TP ( – )) of resis- tor R521 at this time is belo w 80 mV .

27 MZ-N1 Rewriting the P atch Data at Replacement of Main Boar d or Non volatile Memory (IC802) This set requires the patch data in the non volatile memory (IC802) to be re written using the application, when the MAIN board o r non volatile memory (IC802) was replaced.
