8 Step 2: Connect the power cor d With the moni tor and compute r switched off, first connec t the power cord to the mon itor, then co nnect it t o a power outlet. Step 3: Secure the cor ds and close the back co ver 1 Bun dle t he ca ble s and c ord s.
9 US Step 4: T urn on the monitor and computer 1 Press the 1 (po wer) switch upward. The 1 (powe r) indicator o f the mon itor lights up in green. 2 Turn on the co mputer. The installatio n of your moni tor is complete. If necessary, u se the monitor’s contro ls to adjust the picture.
10 Customizing Your Monitor You can mak e numerou s adjust ments to you r monito r using the on-scre en menu. Adjusting to the desired brightness Press ing the button, you can c hange the b rightne ss of t he scree n. Each time yo u press the button, the mode changes as follows.

12 Adjusting the picture’ s sharpness and centering (SCREEN) x Automatic pi cture qu ality adju stmen t functio n When the monitor receives an input signal, it automatic ally adjust s the pict ure’s posit ion and shar pne ss (ph ase/ pit ch), and ensure s tha t a clea r pictur e appears on the scr een (page 15).
13 US x Adjus t the pict ure’ s posi tion manual ly (H CE NTE R/V CENTE R) If the pict ure is not in the center o f the screen , adjust the pi cture’s centering as follows. 1 Load the Utility Disk. 2 Start the Util ity Disk and d isplay th e test pattern.
14 Changing the gamma setting (GAMMA) You can associat e the picture’ s color shade on the screen with the picture’s orig inal color shad e. 1 Press the MENU button. The main me nu appe ars on the screen. 2 Press the M / m buttons to s elect (GAMMA) and press the O K button.
15 US Technical Features P ower saving function This monitor meets the power-s aving guidelines set by VESA, E NER GY S TAR, and NUTEK. If the monitor is connected to a computer or video graphics boar d that is DP MS (Dis play Po wer Management Signaling) compliant, the moni tor will au tomati cally reduce power consumption as s hown below.
16 Troubleshootin g Before co ntacting technical su pport, re fer to this sec tion. On-screen messa ges If there is som ething wro ng with the in put signal, one of th e following m essages appear s on the screen. To solve the problem, see “Tr ouble sym ptoms and remedie s” on page 17.
17 US T roubl e symptoms and remedies If a problem is cau sed by the conn ected comput er or other equi pment, pl ease refer to the con nected equi pment’s ins truction manu al. Use the self-dia gnosis fun ction (pa ge 19) if the fo llowing recom mendation s do not resolve the problem.

19 US Self -diagnos is fun ction This monitor is equ ipped with a se lf-dia gnosis func tion. If the re is a problem with yo ur monitor or com puter(s), the screen will go blan k and th e 1 (powe r) indicato r will either ligh t up in green or flash oran ge.
