6 Att aching the con trol panel 1. Inser t the right side of the contr ol panel (pic. 1, A) i nto the shaft of t he main uni t (pic. 1, B ). 2. Push the pa nel to the right and insert the l eft side of i t (pic. 2). Note: the contro l panel must be atta ched into the T-Jo int.

11 General oper ations Reset the u nit Op erating the unit for the firs t ti me or a fter replacing the ca r batter y, yo u must reset the unit. Pr ess REL b utton, then pr ess the RESET butto n to re store the unit to the original facto ry settings. Pow er bu tton Pr ess the PW R butto n to switch the unit on.

15 TA (Traffic Alarm ) fun ction Br i efly press the PAIR/TA butto n to tur n on o r turn o ff the TA function. When TA is enabled (on), the tuner sta rts s earching the tr affic anno uncement. AF (Alternative F requencies) function Br i efly press the BT/A F button to turn on o r turn o ff the AF function.

21 MP3 overview No tes on MP3 - MP 3 is short for MPEG Aud i o L ayer 3 and re fers to an audio c ompr ession techn ology sta ndard . - This pr oduct a ll ows p laybac k of MP3 files o n CD-ROM, CD-R o r CD-RW discs. - The uni t can read MP 3 fi les written in the forma t compliant with ISO 9660.
22 Notes on creating you r own CD -Rs or CD-RWs containin g MP3 files - To enjo y high quali ty sound, we reco mmend conve rting to MP 3 fi les with a samp l ing fre quency o f 44.1 kHz a nd a fixed bit rate o f 128 kb ps. - DO NOT store more than 25 6 MP3 files per disc.
