This product off ers a reliable and efficient wa y to man- age multiple computers in server rooms, or an y other environment where space is at a premium and provides the added benefit of audio s witching capability .
Instruction Manual 2 Inst allation W arning: Prior to installation, please ensure that all computers and KVM s witch(es) are pow ered down. Device Connection The SV831DUSB is designed for use with bot.
Instruction Manual 3 PS/2 Keyboar d and USB Mouse: 2. The mouse slide s witch must be switched to the right, while the keyboard slide s witch must be s witched to the left. USB Keyboar d and USB Mouse: 3. Both the ke yboard and mouse switches must be s witched to the right.
Instruction Manual 4 Connecting Computers to the Console USB Only T o connect a computer controlled by USB peripherals, use a 1-to-2 cab le (SVECONUSx) to connect from one of the PC P or ts located on the rear panel of the KVM switch to the USB and Video por ts on the computer , as shown below .
Instruction Manual 5 Cascaded Congurations Please note: The master KVM Switch must hav e equal or more PC x por ts than that of the slav e kvm unit. For example , if an 8-por t switch is the master , an 8-por t or 4-por t switch can be a sla v e, but not a 16-port switch.
