1. Introduction The Tannoy V12HP utilises a hi gh performance Dual Concentric ™ drive unit – the 12” (300mm) PowerDual ™ . The substa ntially increas ed effic iency and power handling of this all- new dr iver d esign ensures that the V12HP is capable of deliveri ng high SPL’s in even the most demanding applications.
Cable choice consists mainly of selecting the corr ect cr oss se ctiona l area in relation to the cable length and the load impedance. A small cross sectional area woul d increase the cables series resistance, inducing power loss and resp onse variat ions (dampi ng facto r).
5. Amplification & Power Handling As with all professional loudspeake r systems, the power handli ng is a functi on of voice coil thermal capacity. Care sh ould be take n to avoid running the amplifier into clip (clipping is the end result of overd riving a ny amplif ier).
8. Arraying As discussed in the previous sect ion, comb filtering is a phenom enon, which cannot no t be cured by equalisation. Small alterations to loudspeaker positions can have the effect of minimising problematic combing frequencies.

12.4 SECUR ET – VEB Eyebolt The Tannoy V1 2HP loudsp eaker can be flown with high quality VE B M10 eyebo lts with collar to BS4278:1984. The loudspeakers are equipped with internal st eel braces , which also double as the flying points, and accep t VEB M10 eyebolts.

13. System Configuration & OEM Controller s 13.1 Passive or Biamp? The V12HP is suppl ied as standard for passive operation via t he internal crossover network an d is connected as shown in Figure 1. To reconfigur e for Biamp operation simply follow the wiring schematic as sho wn in Figure 2.
13.2 Passive System Parameters (opti onal) With the vast array of dig ital loudspeaker management systems available it is inevitable that t he user may opt to use a con troller other than the TX2 & TDX2 as part of a l arge scale integrated system.
