11 Filling with dishwasher salt IMPORTANT: Y ou should only use salt that is specially designed for use in a dishwasher. If any other t ype of salt is used in the appliance (in particular table salt), it will damage the water softener. o Ideally you should fill the water sof tener wit h salt, just before you are about to run a wash program .
12 o IMPORTANT: You do not n eed to pour 1 litr e of water into the container when yo u subsequently fill the water softener with salt. Setting the water softener level It is possible to regulate the amount of s alt that the water softener will release during a wash c ycle.
13 Filling with rinse aid The rinse aid is relea sed during the final rinse an d it helps to prevent wate r from forming droplets on your dishes. These droplets will lead to spots and streaks bein g left on items after the wash program has completed. o Your dishwasher is designed to utilise liquid r inse aid.
14 o You should continue to adjust the rinse ai d le vel upw ards until you get no water spots. o If you get cloudiness or streaking on your dishes, the rinse aid level i s set too high and i t is c ausing foaming during th e wash cycle. Turn the arrow clockwise and l ower the setting to the next number.
15 Loading the upper basket The upper basket is most suited to washing del icate and lig ht dishware, such as glasses, coffee & tea cups, sa ucers, plates, bowls and shallow pans (that are not heavily soi led). 1. Cup s 2. Sm all serving bowl 3. L arge serving bowl 4.
16 Loading the lower basket The lowe r basket is most suited to washing larger a nd more heavil y soiled i tems, such as saucepans, sa ucepan lids and serving di shes. You can also load bowls and a variety of plates in to th e lower baske t. 7. Dessert d ishes 8.

18 o Do not al low glasses to touch i nside the dishwasher, ot herwise damage may occur. o Small objects can be placed inside of the cutlery basket. The following items are NOT suita ble for washing inside a dishwasher:- o Cutlery with a handle of mother-of-pearl, wood, horn or china.
19 Program table o The ECONOMY program is suitable for cleanin g a typical load of dirty dishes and is the most efficie nt in term s of its combined energy and water consumption.
20 Setting a wash program Make sure that the before first use section has been followed. o Check whether the appliance needs rinse aid or salt adding to it. o Pull ou t the top and bottom bas kets, then load t hem in accordance with the loadi ng instructions.
21 o Close the door firmly, so that you hear the door lock click shut. o After a fe w seconds, you will hear the applia nce begin to fill with water and the wash program will have started. At the end of a wash program o When the wash program is finished a buzzer wil l sound.
22 Usage o Clean the fil ters regularly both to ke ep the dishwasher cl ean and to maintain its efficiency. o Always remember to switch the appliance off s tandby when you have finished using it. £1 billion worth o f energy i s wasted in the UK every year by peopl e leaving appliances on standby.
23 IMPORTANT: Whi lst the filtering system is efficient, your dishwasher is not a waste disposal unit. All items being washed in side of the di shwasher shoul d have food scra ps removed from them before being loaded into the appliance .
24 Cleaning the spray arms The spray arms sho uld be cleaned regularly, to prevent hard water deposits from clogging the spray arm jets and bearings. o To remove the spray arm, unscrew t he n ut and take out the washer that sits on top of the spray arm.
25 Cleaning the door o To clean the edge around the outside of the door, you should use a soft, damp cloth only. o To prevent wate r from penetrating the door l ock or electrical components, DO NOT use a spray cleaner of any kind. o DO NOT use any abrasive cleaner o r scouring pads on the inner or outer surfaces, as they may cause damage to them.
26 Intense and economy wash indicator neons flash o The machine has sensed water in the base. Check that the outle t hose is not kinked or crushed. Check that there are no blockages in the drain hose or the drainage system that the appliance i s connected to.

31 o Attach the upper hooks onto the furniture door. o Attach the lower hooks onto the furniture door. o Lift the furni ture door towards the di shwasher door, ensuring that t he up per and lower hooks lo cate in to the s lots on the outside of the dishwasher door.
32 Adjusting the tension of the door spring o The door of the dishwasher is attached to sprin gs. These are set at the factory to ensure th at they ar e at the proper tensio n, so that the door can open and close smoothly. o After the fu rniture door has been fitted, you will need to adjust the tension of the door spring.
33 Connecting to the mains water supply IMPORTANT: Do not connect the appl iance to your mains water supply using an o ld or an existing water inlet hos e. The inlet ho se s upplied with the dishwasher is the ON LY one that should be used. DO NOT CONNECT T HE WATER INLET HOSE TO A HOT WATER TAP.
34 Connecting to the water outlet o Secure the drain hose, so that it cannot move whilst the dishwasher is in use. o Place the end of the drain h ose o n your drain pip e. Push it a short way down into your drain pipe. o IMPORTANT: Do not insert the drain hose to o deeply into the pipe, as this may cause siphoning.
35 o IMPORTANT: The e lectrical socket must stil l be ac cessible once the appliance is installed. o Consult the rating p late, l ocated on the right han d si de of the drop down door BEFORE making the electrical connections. Ensure that the vo ltage reaching the pl ug is the s ame as t hat on the rating plate.

37 Levelling the appliance o IMPORTANT: Y our dishwasher must be l evel for it to o perate properly. o Make sure that the dishwasher is supported whilst it is being levelled, otherwise it may tip over. o The rear feet can be adjusted by u sing the adjusting screw at the front of the appliance.
38 Securing the dishwasher The dishwasher must be secured to th e worktop, this can be done i n one of two ways:- o Standard worktop - Secure t he dishwasher to the underside of the worktop by using two wood sc rews. o You should screw through the holes i n th e brackets at the top of the dishwasher cabinet.
