ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-2 Before attempting to moun t your T iger mower , it is import ant to read an underst a nd all of the Safety Messages in the Safety section of this manual. Check complete shipment list again st the packing list to make sure there are no shortages.
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-3 CRANKSHAFT ACCESS T o access the crankshaft of the JD506 5M and 5085-105M, a hole will need to be cut in the front of the tractor casting. The battery plate will need to be raised to cut the hole and attach the crankshaf t adapter .
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-4 CRANKSHAFT ACCESS (continued) Find the center punched marking on the fr ont end of the tractor(shown belo w), and use it as a guide for cutting. Use a 1-3/4” ho le saw to cut a hole for the driveshaft. Once the hole is cut you will be able to look thro ugh the hole and see the driveshaf t cover .
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-5 DRIVESHAFT & FRONT PUMP MOUNTING Thread the pump drive shaf t into the crankshaf t adapter . Slide splined drive shaf t coupler onto the pump drive shaf t. Install the pump onto the mounting bracket. NOTE: the pump is of fset to one direction, the pump should be installed with the offset side on top.
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-6 CABLE CONTROL LEVER ST AND Place the cable control bracket on the floor so th at the bracket is 2-1/2” from the side edge of the door , and 4-3/8” in front of the re ar edge of the door .
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-7 SWITCH BOX WIRING Route the green wires and the red wire (with the 10amp fuse) fro m the switchbox to the front console pan el. Refer to the part s section for wiring diagram to hook up the switch box. Cover the wire s from the sw itch box with plastic wire wrap provided.
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-8 WEATHER-PACK/METRI-PACK ASSEMBLY These instructions apply to bo th Weather-Pack and Metri-p ack connectors. NOTE: Use the specific tool for the type of conne ctor you are assembling.
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-9 V AL VE MOUNTING Attach the rea r valve mounting bracket to the fender of the tractor by removing the two rear bolts on the left fender and the two rear bolts on the right fender . See illustration below . Drill the square holes in the fenders to accept 3/8” cap screws.
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-10 PRESSURE LINE INST ALLA TION The hydraulic pressure line will be plum bed into the tractors power beyond port. Locate the power beyond port on the up per right side of the tractor rear remotes, remove the plug (refer to the illu stration below and the Parts Section).
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-11 MANUAL LIFT V AL VE PORTS (ASM-C-0057) MANUAL SWITCH BOX MOUNTING The switch box is to be secured to the operators side o f the control hand les, or valve stand. Refer to the part s section for assembly and component s needed.
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-12 *NOTE ON HUSCO CONTROL V A L VES* Manual, cable controlled (Husco control va lve) boom mowers require check valves with integral restricting orifice (#06502036) in stalled in the control valve wo rk ports that are connected to the gland ends of th e main and secondary boom cylinders.
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-13 HOSE AND WIRE ROUTING Attach two clamps to the right rear wheel we ll for proper hose/wire routing. Drill one hole for each clamp. Use th e lower re ar corner of the wheel well as an origin for measuring. The holes should be 10mm or 3/8” reamed to a ccept 3/8” hardware.
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-14 FENDER CUT FOR WHEEL WELL T ANK A notch will have to be cut into the left rear fender to allow room for the hyd raulic tank filler neck. The notch sho uld start at 2 inches from the rear corner of the fender and create a 1 inch deep arc that is 5 inch es long.

Install fittings in the rod end of the cylinder according to the dia gram in the Common Part s section. These fittings should be positioned to face the butt end of the cylinder .
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-22 MOWER MOUNTING Check that all grease zerks have been inst alled in the draft beams pivot arm, lef t linkage arm, right linkage arm, a nd cylinder mounting ears. Using a clevis pin and roll pins, connect the pivot arm to clevis on draft beam.
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-23 TRA VEL LOCK MOUNTING Install the travel lock bracket wit h pin and clip on the draf t beam. Slide the draf t beam and align the travel lock bracket hole with t he mounting hole on the main frame. Inst all the capscrew , lockwasher and hex nut as shown in the picture.
ASSEMBL Y Assembly Section 2-24 ST OP BOL T ADJUSTMENT Extend the outboard cylinder all th e way out. Adjust the stop adjustment bolt (located on the top of the draft beam) out until it is up against the bonnet. Lock the bolt down with the ¾” hex nut.

Front end weight is critical to maintain steering ability and to prevent th e front end from rearin g up.
