9 Features of your new TV The following are just a fe w of the many exciting features of your new T oshiba widescreen, integrated HD, LCD TV : • Integrated digital tuning (8VSB A TSC and QAM) eliminates the need for a separate digital con verter set-top box (in most cases).

16 Chapter 2: Connecting your TV Connecting an HDMI ® or DVI device to the HDMI input The HDMI input on your TV recei ves digital audio and uncompressed digital video from an HDMI source device, or uncompressed digital video from a D VI (Digital V isual Interface) source de vice.
17 Chapter 2: Connecting your TV REGZA-LINK ® connection Y ou can control the basic functions of connected audio/video devices using the TV’ s remote control if you connect a REGZA-LINK compatible audio receiv er or playback device. For an e xplanation of setup and operations, see pages 48-49.

Chapter 6: Using the TV’ s features 42 Unlocking programs temporarily If you try to tune the TV to a program that e xceeds the rating limits you set, the TV will enter program lock mode and the following message will appear on- screen: This pr ogram exceeds the rating limit you set.

Chapter 7: Using the TV’ s advanced features 52 Using CableClear ® digital noise reduction The CableClear ® digital noise reduction feature allows you to reduce visible interference in your TV picture. This may be useful when recei ving a broadcast with a weak signal (especially a Cable channel) or playing a noisy video cassette or disc.
53 General troubleshooting Before calling a service technician, please check this chapter for a possible cause of the problem and some solutions you can try . Black box on-screen • The c losed captio n feat ure is set t o one of the T ext mode s ( T1 , T2 , T 3 , or T4 ).
