16 Precautions Concerning the Built-in Hard Disk - The internal h ard disk cont ains firmware da ta and demo fi les for th e gigabeat. T he disk area that can actu ally be used is the area excep t for these files.
17 AC Adapter When using the AC adapter, carefully read and observe the in formation in “Safety Precautions” ( > p. 4) as well as the following instruction s. Refer to “Specificati ons” ( > p. 99) for the type of the supplied AC adapter.

19 Setting Up the gigabeat Set Up Charging the Built-in Battery When charging th e gigabeat f or the first time , make certain to fully charge th e batter y . Preparation Set the BA TTER Y s witch on the bottom of th e main unit to ON. Using the AC Adapter Connect the A C adapter t o the gigabeat in th e order A to C shown bel ow .
20 Charging via the USB Cable Connect the gigabeat to the PC via the supplied USB cab le . / Note - If Windo ws Media ® Pl a yer 10 is not installed on y our PC , the gigabeat can not be connected properly . Install Windo ws Media Pla yer 10 bef ore you connect the gigabeat to y our PC .
