R eclining a sea t- back s o tha t t he shoulder par t of t he be lt no longe r rest s against t he occu pant’s chest reduc es t he prot ect iv e capa bilit y of the belt . It also increases the cha nce of sliding under t he belt in a cr ash and being ser iously injured.

If a seat belt is worn du ring a crash, it must be rep laced by the dealer. A belt t hat ha s been w orn during a crash may no t pro vide the s ame level of pr otec tion in a subs equent cr ash. T he d ealer should a lso inspec t t he anchor s f or da mage and r eplac e them if needed.

T he drive r’s ad vance d f ro nt airb ag system includes a seat position sensor under t he seat . If the seat is t oo f a r f orw ar d, t he air bag w ill inf late w ith less f orce, regardless of the severity of t he i mpact. Y our f r ont a irbags ar e also a dva nced airb ags.
Moving t he f ront se at f orcibly back agai nst c argo on the s eat or f loor behind it . Mo ving the f ront se at or s eat-bac k f orcibly back aga inst t he f olded rear s eat. Be aware that o bjec ts pl aced o n t h e passenger’s sea t can a lso cause the airb ag to be tu rned of f .
If t he side air bag of f indic at or comes on (s ee page ), ha ve t he passenge r sit upright . Once t he passenge r is out of th e airba g’s deployment pat h, t he sy ste m will tu rn th e air ba g ba ck o n, and the indicat or will go out .
If t he impact is on the passenger’ s side, t he passe nger’s s ide curt ain airb ag wi ll in f late even if t he re are no occupant s on t hat side of t he vehicle . If th e SRS in di cato r do es no t c om e o n af ter yo u turn the ig ni ti on swit ch t o t he ON (II) posit ion.
Thi s in di ca tor al erts yo u that the passe nge r’s f ron t airbag has b een shut of f beca use weight sensor s det ect about 65 lbs ( 29 k g) or less (t he w eight of a n inf a nt or sma ll child) on t he f r ont pa ssenger ’s sea t. It does there i s a prob lem wi th th e ai rb ag.

A n inf ant must be pr operly res tr ained in a r ear- f a cing, re clining child sea t unt il the child re aches t he sea t ma ker’ s weight or height limit f or t he se at , and t he child is a t le ast one year ol d. Only a r ear -f a cing child sea t pr ovides proper suppor t f or a baby ’s hea d, neck, and ba ck.

When not using the L A T CH syst em, all chi ld seats must be secured to the vehic le wit h t he la p part of a lap/ shoulder belt . Wit h t he c hild seat in t he desir ed sea ting pos ition, r oute t he belt t hrough t he child se at ac cording to the seat maker’s instructions, the n in se rt the la tch pl ate i nto the buckle.
A f t er conf ir ming tha t t he belt is locked , grab t he shoulder par t of the belt near the buckle, and pu ll up to rem ove any slack f rom the lap pa rt of t he be lt. R emembe r, if the lap par t o f the bel t i s no t ti gh t, t he child se at will not be se cure.

CONT INUED T he system may not recognize you r key’ s coding if anot her immobilizer key or other metal object (i.e. key f ob) is nea r t he ignit ion swit ch whe n you i nsert the key. If the syst em repeatedly do es not rec ognize t he coding of your key , contact your dealer.
− − − − If t he f ron t wheels are turned, the ant i-t hef t lock may m ake it dif f ic ult to tur n the key . Fir m ly tu rn th e steering wheel to the lef t or right as you turn the key. Yo u ca n o pe rate the au di o sy ste m an d the accessory power sockets in this posit ion.

T o lock the passenger’s door when get ting out of t he v ehicle, pull out t he lock ta b a nd close t he d oor. T o lock t he dr iver ’s door , remov e t he key f rom t he ignit ion swit ch and pull out the lock t ab or push the t op of the mas ter sw i tch , th en cl os e the door.
