1 What is in Your Box Phone at a Glance ■ Note: All the pictures in this guid e are for your referen ce only. The actual appearance and disp lay features depend on the mobile phone you purchase.
2 Key Functi ons at Your Fi ngerti ps • Press to power on you r mobile phone. • Press and hold to open the Phone options menu. • Press to lock the scre en when your mobile phone is active. • Touch to retur n to the previous scr een. • Touch to exit any applic ation you are running.
3 Installing the SIM Card Installing the microSD card* and the battery ★ Tip: *microSD card is optional. Charging the Battery If your mobile phone is c harged when it is pow ered on, the battery ic on on the Notification b ar shows the cha rging status.
4 Status Indica tor Powering On Your Mobile Phone Press . The first time you power on your ph one, you will be asked to sign in to your acco unt and set up your mobile phone . Powering Off Your Mobile Phone 1. Press and hold to open th e Phone options menu.

6 Locking the Screen • When your mo bile phone is o n, press to lock the screen. When the screen is locked, you can still receive messages and calls. • If your mobile is idle for a while, the screen will lock automatically. Unlocking the Screen 1.
7 Adding a Contact 1. In the contact list, to uch > New contact . 2. If you ha ve more than o ne account with contac ts, touch the account to which you want to add the contact. 3. Enter the contact's name, and then add detailed informat ion such as phone number or address.
8 Rejecting an Incoming Call Dra g the t o the lef t to r eje ct t he ca ll. Displaying the Keyboard Panel To enter text, use the o nscreen keyboar d. Some applications open the keyboard automat ically. In others, t ouch a text field to open t he keyboard.
9 Choosing an Input Method 1. Touch and hold the space wher e you enter your te xt until the Edit text menu is displayed. 2. Touch Input method . 3. Selec t the input m ethod. The keyboard panel will be displayed automatically. Creating and Sending a Multimedia Message 1.
10 Connecting to a Wireles s Network 1. After tu rning on Wi-Fi, t ouch > Settings . 2. Touch Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi se ttings . You will see a list of detected Wi-Fi netwo rks in the Wi-Fi networks section. 3. Touch a Wi-Fi network to connec t to it.
11 Changing t he Phone Ringt one 1. On the Settings screen, touch Sound > Phone ringtone . 2. Touch the ringtone you wa nt to use, and then touch OK . The ringtone plays when selected. Changing the Messa ge Ringtone 1. On the Home screen, tou ch > Messaging .
12 Capture Scr een Taking a Phot o 1. Open your c amera and switch to the camera mo de. 2. If necessary, chan ge the camer a settings. The preview ch anges as you change the settings . 3. Compose your photo with in the photo capture scre en. 4. Touch and hold .
13 Enjoying Music Before you using mus ic player, you must copy music fi les fro m your computer to the microS D card. Once you have done this, the player will search for music on the microSD card. After the search is complete, yo u will be able to view all available music fi les in the music library.
14 Installing an Application ■ Note: If you want to install a non -Market application, to uch > Settings > Applications , and then select the Unknown sources check box to allow installation of the non-Ma rket application. 1. In the Market , touch Apps .
15 How do I set the unlock pattern? Touch > Settings > Location & security > Set up sc reen l ock > Pattern . How can I change the keyboard mode? Touch and hold the area w here you write text and then select the inp ut method you prefer.
