16 USES OF THE TOP OV EN The top oven is the smaller of the two ovens . It is heate d by elements in the top and bo ttom of the oven. It is designed for cook ing on one leve l and for small qua ntities of food. It g ives espec ially good res ults if used to cook fruit cakes , sweet or savo ury flans or quic he.
