2 TABLE OF CONTENTS FINDING MODEL NUMBER This Operator’s Ma nual is an important part of your new snow thrower. It will help you assemble, prepare and maintain the unit for best performance.

4 5. Never run an engine indoors or in a poorly ventilated area. Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, an odorless and deadly gas. 6. Do not ope rate machine whil e under the i nfluence of alcohol or drugs. 7. Muffler and engine b ecome hot and can cause a burn.
5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR SNOW THROWER Unpacking • Remove screws from the to p sides and ends of the shipping crate. • Set panel aside to avoid t ire punctures or personal injury. • Remove and discard plastic bag th at covers unit. • Remove any loose parts included with unit (i.
6 • If not already a ttached, slip th e cables that ru n from the handle panel to th e chute assembly into the cable guide located on t op of the engine. See Figure 3. Figure 3 • If not alre ady attached, unwrap the headlight wire which is attached to the he adlight, beneath the handle panel.
7 The drive control also locks the auger control so you can turn the chute dire ctional control without interrupting t he snow throwing process. If the auger control is engaged al ong with the drive control, the operator can release th e auger control (on the left handle) and the a ugers will remain engaged.
8 Headlight The headlight is on whenever th e engine is running. T rack Lock Lev er The track lock lever is located on t he right side of the snow throwe r and is use d to select the posit ion of the auger housin g and the method o f track operation. M ove the lever to the right, then forward or backward to one of the three posit ions.
9 • Rotate ch oke knob to FULL choke posit ion (col d engine start). If engin e is warm, place choke in OFF position inste ad of FUL L. • Push pr imer button two or thr ee times for cold engine star t, making sure to co ver vent hole in primer butt on when pus hing.
10 • Confirm that th e auger has completely st opped rotating and shows NO signs of motion. IMPORT ANT: If the auger shows ANY sig ns of rota ting, immediately return to the ope rator’s position and shut off the engine. Wait for ALL moving parts t o stop before re-adjusting th e auger control.
11 SECTION 5: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS WARNING: NEVER attempt to make any adjustments while the e ngine is running, except where spec ified in the operat or’s manual. Chute Assembly The distance snow is thrown can be adjusted by changing the angle o f the upper chute.
12 Shift Rod Adjustment To adjust t he shift rod , procee d as follows: • Remove the hairpin clip and slide the shift rod connector up , to separate the upper shift rod from the lower shift rod. See Figure 11. • Place the shift lever in to the sixth (6) posit ion.
13 Drive / Auger Control Lock The cams on the ends of the control r ods which interlock the drive and auger controls must be lubricated at least once a season or every 25 hours of operation. The ca ms can be accessed beneath the handle panel. Use a mu lti-purpose automotive gr ease.
14 SECTION 7: SERVICING YOUR SNOW THROWER WARNING: Before serv icing, repairing, or inspecting, disengage all c ontrols and stop engine. Wait until all moving parts have come to a compl ete stop. Disconnect spark plug wire and g round it against the engine to prev ent unintended starting .
15 • Drain the gasoline fr om the snow thrower, or place a piece of p lastic film under t he gas cap. • Tip the snow thr ower up and forward so that it rest s on its auger housing. Refer to Figure 9. • Remove the six self-tap ping screws from the frame cover underneath the snow thrower.
16 • Lightly tap the hex nut t o dislodge the ball bearing from the r ight side o f frame b efore remo ving the he x nut and bell wash er from left end of sh aft. Figure 20 • Move the gear shaf t to the right and slide t he friction wheel assembly from the shaft.
17 NOTE: Fuel stabilizer is an a cceptable alternative in minimizing t he formation of fuel gum deposits durin g storage. Do not drain carburetor if using fuel stabilizer. • Wipe equipment with an oiled rag to prevent rust. • Remove spark pl ug and pour one ounce of engi ne oil through spark plug hole int o cylinder.
