2 TABLE OF CONTENTS FINDING MODEL NUMBER This Operator’s Manual is an important part of your new lawn mower. It will help y ou assemble, prepare and maintain the unit fo r best perform ance.
3 SECTION 1: IMPORTANT SAFE OPERATION PRACTICES General Oper ation 1. Read this operator’s man ual carefully in its entirety before atte mpting to assemble t his machine. Read, understand, and follow all instructions on the machine and in the manual (s) before operatio n.

5 9. Never remove ga s cap or a dd fuel wh ile the eng ine is hot or running. Allow engine to co ol at least two minutes befo re refueling. 10. Never over fill fuel tank. Fill tank to no more than ½ inch below bottom of filler neck to provide space for fuel expansion.

7 SECTION 3: ASSEMBLING YOUR LAWN MOWER Removing Unit From Cart on • Remove stap les, break glue on top flaps, or cut tape at carton en d and peel along top fla p to open. • Remove loose parts included with unit (i. e., operator’s manu al, oil, etc.
8 Attaching Starter Rope The rope guide is already at tached to the right side of the lower handle of you r mower. See Figure 4 . • With spark p lug wire discon nected and g rounded, hold the blade control hand le against the upper handle, and pu ll the starter rope out of the engine .
9 SECTION 4: KNOW YOUR LAWN MOWER Read this owner’s manua l and safety rules befo re operating your lawn mower. Com pare the illust rations in Figure 8 with your lawn mower to familiarize yourself with the location of various cont rols and adjustments.
10 SECTION 5: OPERATING YOUR LAWN MOWER Gas & Oil Fill-Up • Check oil level and add oil if necessary. Follow relevant instr uctions in the engine manual fo r this. • Service the engine with gasoline as instruct ed in the engine m anual. Before Starting Mow er • Attach spark plu g wire to spark plug.
11 SECTION 6: MAINTAINING YOUR LAWN MOWER Cleaning Mower The underside of th e mower deck should be cleaned after each use to preven t any build-up of grass clippings, leaves, dirt , or other debris. If this debris is allowed to accumu late, it will result in rust and corrosion.
12 Engine • Follow the engine manu al instructions and recommended schedule for lubricat ing engine components. Blade Care • Periodically inspect the blade adapter and pulley for cracks, especially if yo u strike a fore ign object. Replace when necessary.
13 SECTION 7: SERVICE & ADJUSTMENTS Replacing Drive Belt • Remove two shoulder screws securing th e front drive cover to the mower de ck. See Figure 11. Figure 11 • Press inward o n the sides of the front drive cover and releas e the tab s that secu re the fro nt drive cover to the height adjuster bracket s.
14 Figure 14 • Reassemble t he upper hand le to the lo wer handle. • Place the hairpin clips in the inner holes of th e weld pins and replace th e carriage bolts and wing nuts on the handle bra c kets. Attach the starter r ope as instructed in the Assembly section.
