Draw out th e inner rail s from rail assem bly . Install inner rails to l eft and right sides of chas sis using 2 M4-5L(D) screws for each side.
Chapter 2: Setting Up 19 4. Loca te the fron t and rear bra ckets. 5. Reserv e 90mm for Transport G T20 on the front b racket. Secure the front bracket to outer rail wit h 2 M4-4L(C) screws. Rear Bracket x2 Front Bracket x2 M4-4L(C) Screw *Remember to add washer .
20 Chapter 2: Setti ng Up 6. Reserv e the distance sam e as in S tep 2 on rear bracket. Secure the rear bracket to ou ter rail with 2 M4-4L(C) screws. 7. Se cure the ou ter rail to the rack us ing 2 bracke ts and 4 M4-8L( E) screws f or each side ( A).
Chapter 2: Setting Up 21 Rackmounting the Server 8. Draw o ut the middle rail to the l atch position . 9. Lift the c hassis and the n insert the inner slide rails into the middl e rails. 10. Push the chassi s in and pr ess the latc h key (A ). Then push the whole syste m into the ra ck (B).
22 Chapter 2: Setti ng Up 1 1. Secu re the mounti ng ears of cha ssis to the r ack with 2 M4-15L(F ) screws. NOTE : T o avoid inju ry , it is str ongly recomm ended that two people l if t the Transport G T 20 into the place wh ile a third p er- son screws it to the rack.

26 Chapter 2: Setti ng Up 7. Clos e the cover and secure the CPU sock et in the reverse procedures from step 2 to 6. 8. Secu re the h eatsink with 4 screws. NO TE : Remem ber to install the washer and n ut while ins talling the scre ws. 9. Secu re the air duct wi th 2 screws.
Chapter 2: Setting Up 27 2.2.3 Inst alling the M emory Follo w these in structions to install the memory m odules o n the mothe rboard. 1. Loca te the memor y slots on the mo therboard. 2. Pre ss the me mory slot loc king leve rs in the di rection of the arrows as shown in the following il lustration.
28 Chapter 2: Setti ng Up 2.2.4 Inst alling the PCI Card Follow the se instructions to install a P CI card. 1. Push the tab of PC I slot on the rear panel in the direc tion as shown to release the bracket. 2. Move the bracke t to right as shown and then take off the bracket (A ).
Chapter 2: Setting Up 29 2.3 Installing the Hard Drive The Transport G T 20 bareb one system supports Serial A T A hard dr ives. Foll ow these inst ructions t o install a SA T A hard drive. 1. Press th e loc king lever l atch i n the d irec tio n of ar row ( A ) and the n pull the lo cking lev er open ( B ).
30 Chapter 2: Setti ng Up 4. Using 4 H DD screws to secure the HDD. 5. Reinsert th e drive tray into th e chassis (A), e nsuring that the drive tray is compl etely inse rted into the chassis (B). 6. Pre ssing the l ocking lev er to secu re the hard d rive tray .
Chapter 2: Setting Up 31 2.4 Installing the S lim FDD (Option) 1. Locate th e two FDD rails and s crews from the FDD kit. Secu re the two ra ils to FDD u sing four sc rews. 2. Connec t the FFC cab le to FDD. 3. Use a screw driver to take off the door of F DD tray .
